Sunday 23/6/24 I thought I would try out THE BREAKFAST costing £5.50 & a pot of T costing £1. 95 = £7.45.
Erin offered to carry my tray to my table & she also took time to help me to put in the code for the review - 10/10 for Erin.
Rhymes brought me some 🍅 sause to my table when he was passing & later I had a bleather with him BUT he spoke that fast - a bit like a machine gun getting fired 😂 despite that he was a pleasant guy.
Now on to my all- day - breakfast. I was ready for it 'cos I had no breakfast b4 going to Church & I was surprised that my breakfast was served up onto a near hot 🔥 plate 🍽️ 👍 & that doesn't happen very often in some other eateries. My fried egg wasn't all frizled up & my tattie scone wasn't at the stage where one could ring the grease out of it, nor was it burnt on one side, as has happened in a few cafes that I've visited. My 2 hash browns were cooked spot on👍 the link sausage was good, but the one small slice of bacon 🥓 was a wee bit dry. All in all it was all very good & just a wee bit of fat was left.
Sorry 😔 I forgot to take a photo of my breakfast - I was that hungry, I just wanted to get in there & devour the lot.
Saturday 23rd Novemberl 2024 Remember we had snow ❄️ & it was a good job I had my 🥾 🥾 on - first time this year & I was glad that I did. It was a bit packed with slush at Tesco in Camelon.
I fancied a baked/jacket potato 🥔 with chile 🌶️ con - carne minus the cheese 🧀 & you can see the green wrinkled, looking old potato & the dry lettuce 🥬 that tends to stick in you throat [iceberg is much better] but they can only use what they've been given & of course I sent it back for a cheese 🍕 & onion🧅 tasty & you all can see how that turned out.
The best place for a baked tattie is the Aromas cafe in Falkirk - so seek out that place & be astounded at the baked potato & the massive filling...
Read moreWhen I arrived, there was already a que of 5 people before me. I could tell immediately service was slow and there were only two staff serving, one of which seemed particularly slow, which seemed like he was training. There were multiple tables that required cleaning. Eventually, a third staff member who seemed slightly more experienced, possibly a manager, showed up and cleared a table.
I had to change my original order due to a lack of ingredients. I ended up ordering two iced coffees and two toasties. I was told to wait by the counter (a little over 20 minutes) to receive both. The drinks took so long that the staff member making them forgot what he was making and ended up serving 4 people after me, then getting the order wrong. There was very little communication or interaction with customers, and what there was seemed like they were miserable to be interacting with customers.
Other points I noticed were that there were no liners being used in the Merrychef oven (this is a cross contamination issue for vegan and vegetarian food coming into contact with meat). Overall, there was very poor deployment or cohesion of the team, and the manager did very little managing, choosing instead to fiddle around with a milk frothing tool.
To sum up, it is essential to see improvement on health and safety to do with ingredient handling and using appropriate equipment to prevent cross contamination. Customer service needs improvement, no more fed up faces. Wearing of appropriate uniforms needs improvement, not all staff were in aprons. The speed of service needs improvement, deploy the team effectively, and ensure customers get served in time frames seen across other such businesses (e.g. Costa, Starbucks, etc.) particularly when there is a mostly empty Cafe during lunchtime...
Read moreI have been to this cafe 3 times in the last two weeks, awful service, waited ages on my food the first time and my cappucino was cold by the time i received my food, the next time i came i was told there was nothing for a full breakfast, right in a tesco store and there was no breakfast food, then today i went in for a cappucino and waited 20 mins as the machine had been through a cleaning cycle and needed to go through another for some reason, the staff are absolutely lovely especially Caroline but are obviously understaffed and do not have the food available to cover the menu, such a shame as it's a lovely cafe and...
