This pub has everything going for it, friendly service, great atmosphere and the location is absolutely breathtaking. But why only four out of five stars? Simple problem the food🥲much less than this place deserves, and certainly less then the prices promise. If you are going to chargrill vegetables then probably best start with some decent sized vegetables, otherwise you are going to get a plate of frazzled objects that have lost any resemblance to how they started, I thought it was a plate of chilli peppers that arrive, which were in fact carrots and the green beans had shrivelled into charcoaled samphire, roughest piece of lamb in existence. However the sauce in the seafood pasta was good, and nice selection of drinks. Hoping that the chef will revise their style, and serve food that will make this eatery one of the best on the West.

Right this the pub... i wouldn't value it high just because we were starving after a sunny day of climbing or the road home was closed due to accident for half a day... it's because the food and service was fabulous... we had cullen skink with smoked haddock and "soup of the moment" for starters...beautiful, fresh, warm bread. As main we had halibut, scallion mash with gabreich and brocolli and fish and chips... i'd say the fish and chipa was much bwtter value for money, however we enjoyed the halibut very much despite the difference in price. We learnt what scallion mash and gabreich means... so i supppse we had free education included within the price... and we couldn't leave without lovely chocolate fudge cake each.... niiiiice. Enjoy the views too.. booking essential it seems. Thank you from st helens mountaineering club.

not seen the inn rooms but if they're anything like the cleanliness and comfort of the rest of the pub, I'm sure they'd be amazing. the food is glorious and really highlights the skill of the kitchen and quality of produce used. we got three local cask ales on tap but there was a brilliant selection of standard beers and local suppliers of spirits. the staff were attentive, polite, and really friendly even during a busy sunny lunch period! i would absolutely recommend this place but definitely book in advance because it can get pretty busy even off-season, when it's lovely weather.

Badachro is located along a very winding yet scenic single track road (with passing areas). You almost think you cant go any further, yet drive over one last hill for it to open up into this incredible coastal sea scape where white houses hug the coastline. The village of Badachro loves to slumber and even perhaps hibernate on the surface, but head to Badachro Inn and you’ll find the beating heart of a vibrant and lively community.

A headed to the Badachro Inn for dinner. I was going to walk from Badachro Distillery where I was staying to the Inn - probably a 15 minute walk - but its unbelievably dark here. Even my phone torch didn’t penetrate the darkness more than one metre in front of me. As a city gal, and fairly clumsy to boot, I knew I’d end up in a ditch along the way and really didn’t fancy getting covered in mud. So I sacrificed having a drink and took the car.

On arrival the Inn was lively with locals and visitors alike. I can see this being the absolute number one spot to dine at come the lighter months and Summer time. The bar has a lovely cosy atmosphere with a roaring fire. There is also a larger dining area with full views over the water and a large patio outdoor dining area. You would want to be here on a gorgeous sunny day, drinking a cold pint and gorging on fresh local seafood.

But it’s not all about the sunshine. Badachro Inn is open all year round, and if the sun ain’t shining, owner Martyn will certainly brighten up your day with great bants and much laughter plus fresh seafood is available!

I couldn’t resist checking out their social media and sample menu early morning, already deciding and salivating all day at the thought of tucking into some incredible fresh local Scottish langoustines.

I set my expectations low as many restaurants really rip you off when it comes to seafood. I didn’t have to…imagine my sheer delight when this mahoosive plate of six big fat juicy creel caught Gairloch langoustines with a mayo dip, salad and crispy bread (£17.95) landed on my table! Wow - just wow.

The menu is written on a chalk board and this night featured starters of :

Great Glen Charcuterie Venison Salami, Pork Salami, Focacia Bread and salad (£8.95) OR Goats Cheese, caramelised onions, and walnuts (£6.95)

Mains featured dishes like :

Beef Steak pie, chips and peas (£16.95) OR Scottish Salmon oven baked with green beans and dauphinois potatoes (£18.95)

As tempting as these other dishes were… it was the langos that stole my heart. Portion size is decent here - with every dish coming out the kitchen looking incredible and empty plates being returned to the kitchen. I think that says it all really.

Badachro Inn also have a Retail Wine Selection - check out their socials for more info as well as Stag and Dough, an outdoor pizza and prosecco van that sprung up during lockdown and due the the success now has a permanent parking space in front of the Inn. Currently only open at the weekends which should change come the start of the season.

Would I go back to Badachro Inn? Hell yes. Time and time again. I wish I lived closer as this would definitely...

We are so disappointed with our recent experience at the Badachro Inn, previously a favourite place to visit and now somewhere we will avoid and advise all friends and family to also take a wide birth! We were delighted when after being out West for a walk at the beach that they had a table available when we popped in around 5.30pm on Sunday evening, we were advised we would need to be away by 7.30pm but we thought that would be fine, as we ordered before 6pm! Our order was taken quickly, and our starters came relatively quickly too, however the plates sat on the table uncleared for about 15 minutes and our main course took a further 20 minutes to be served. While waiting we ordered some more drinks, two of these drinks were glasses of Pinot Grigio blush (a favourite that I have every-time we visit) when the glasses arrived I knew as soon as I looking at it that it wasn’t the correct wine as it was a dark pinky colour and upon tasting it, it was an unpleasant sweet rose wine! When asking the waitress she advised me that it wasn’t the Pinot Grigio blush as they didn’t have it and they’d just given us another rose!! I advised I did not like the wine and requested they change them for just a plain Pinot Grigio - I was pretty taken a back as I don’t think I’ve ever had someone just serving me another wine when they didn’t have the one ordered! Our food arrived along with the much nicer wine and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. When our plates for main were cleared we were asked if we’d like dessert so we said yes and continued to order. The dessert arrived on our table about 7.20pm and about 3 minutes later while we were half way through our desserts we were reminded that we had to leave the table by 7.30pm. The remainder of our time at the table was so uncomfortable, one of the waitresses kept coming into the conservatory to wipe the other tables and bang the chairs and there were comments being made of us still not leaving the table and we still hadn’t been given our bill!! When leaving I asked to make a complaint about the service, as had the main course been served quicker we would have been finished, so it just seemed crazy that the blame was been put on us as customers when the time was completely out of our control. The young girl I spoke to initially was lovely and apologetic, explaining that there was a shortage of kitchen staff, to which I said was understandable but still not a reason for being treated the way we were. Unfortunately the lady that came out to speak to me after the initial conversation with the younger girl was down right rude, asking me what my problem was and stating that they had done us a favour giving us a table and they should never have given us the table as we hadn’t booked… it’s so sad as it’s a beautiful spot and use to be an absolute gem that I recommended time and time again, but I walked away from that woman and...

Please refer to other reviews for the quality of the food as sadly we didn't get this far.||||Tuesday 10th August 2021 ||We made a lunch reservation for four people (myself , wife and two children) plus a small dog . Fine no problem ||||Thursday 12 August ||Arrived 10 mins early for booking at 1.45pm. The friendly and pleasant waitress took us out to a table in the conservatory area and we sat down. After about 5 mins the Bar manager (later identified himself as 'Sonny' ) said in rather an abrupt manner that dogs were not allowed in that area and we would either have to sit inside or take our chances with the outside seating area. As this area was full we accepted this and moved inside to another table. Whilst moving i did say to the bar manager that that we only sat at our previous table because we were taken there by his colleague. ||||When we were seated we heard the bar manger in the kitchen area saying that i was 'being an arse' about the seating arrangements. He was plainly audible to the whole inside restaurant area. ||||When he retuned to the dining area i complained that there was no need to use that language and especially to the extent that my family and everyone else could hear it!. ||||He then replied that i had been a 'Bit of one' and then said perhaps we should start again and move on from this and enjoy the rest of the day and meal. ||||On contemplation we decided to leave . I spoke with the waitress to see if the owner was available but they were not. I therefore spoke with the bar manager again and complained about his behaviour in front of my family, he was completely unapologetic and denied saying what he had in fact said.||||His behaviour was totally unprofessional and i can only judge that they must be very short of staff as this type of behaviour would not be tolerated in any reputable pub/restaurant. Whilst i do not believe the customer is always right I also believe they do not need to be humiliated.||||Our original booking clearly noted the presence a small dog, the fact that no table in the correct area of the pub had been allocated in advance of our arrival just confirms their poor management skills||||All in all a very disappointing experience which will cloud our memories...
