McCaskies is a wonderful strange mix. A Bespoke butchery establishment with a deserved reputation for quality in Wymess Bay has the unique setting of having a cafe Restaurant in the same building. The cafe interior and food quality are excellent. Baked goods look tasty also. Cooked Breakfast is much of a muchness everywhere. Similar ingredients so its all down to the cooking and presentation. Gladly both are good. At £12 breakfast is not cheap There is an anomaly with the website which states one price at £8.50.but items and portions are good. The restaurant is situated opposite the ferry terminal and rail station which is really convenient Staff are nice 'n' friendly and service was quick.

I am not usually a 5 star reviewer. This place was outstandingly exceptional! Clean, friendly, attentive, I felt valued as a customer beyond expectation. The food, well the word I used for the black pudding and mushroom pancake stack was “orgasmic” I was so shocked how high quality all the food was. This is no greasy spoon. The Scottish breakfast was so high quality, my Dad who usually smothers a breakfast in sauce, had non! The flavours were stand alone. (No sauce necessary!!) Thank you McCaskie’s. May your quality food and service be long enjoyed and may your business continue to prosper.

This is a great stop off especially for breakfast. I would definitely recommend the pancakes which are very well cooked, fluffy and delicious. I would personally like a little more bacon as I’d got through all of my bacon with a single pancake and had two pancakes left over devoid of accompanying bacony goodness. That being said the bacon straddled that miraculous margin of being just crisp enough to be satisfyingly crunchable without getting to the point of having even a hint of charcoalness. Which just made me wish I had just a few extra rashers even more. All in all, worth a visit.

What a gem of a place. We'd been aware of this cafe for some time living only a few miles away. I happened across a news article reviewing Wemyss Bay that extolled the virtues of this place do we thought, why not? We were not disappointed..from the cleanliness of the place to the friendliness of all the staff and even a really cool soundtrack playing that lead to a knowledgeable discussion on David Byrne with the manager. This all before our breakfasts arrived..possibly could be classed as expensive at £11 for a small brekkie without a brew, but most definitely worth every penny. The food is farm standard, proper back bacon and real sausages with beautiful black pudding and haggis. It was so pleasant a visit that we stayed and had coffee and a shared home made cake which was also delicious. Well done everyone. You're a...

Fab cafe restaurant. Very spacious, clean, smart and bright. Been a few times - this time for breakfast. I had the full breakfast which could have included black pudding or haggis, although I actually chose fried fruit pudding, which you don't often get! I was less keen on the sausage (neither the flat Lorne nor the links were that good), although another member of my party had no reservations about wolfing them down. Lovely coffee by the way. The cafe is situated right on the main road opposite Wemyss Bay Railway Station. There is a small car park at the side for customer use. Not particularly cheap - but it is nice and a nice view out the window allows you to see the comings and goings of the ferry...
