Had a wee afternoon tea at the Clocktower today. We were gifted this as a present, but from the photos, it says £18.50 pp. If we had been paying, it would have been worth every penny. What an amazing plate we were presented. The first plate was a hot plate filled with so many flavours delicious! The three tier plate was filled with an array of scones, all different types of cakes and traybake, and a mixture of sandwiches. If you're thirsty, other drinks can be ordered, but you are served tea and coffee on arrival. The Clocktower has a lovely atmosphere about it, making you feel welcomed and relaxed fairly quickly. The decor is tasteful and well-done and has lots of little touches, let's not forget the staff, excellent customer service! Well done, ladies 😊 The Clocktower has an upstairs serving area where you can find the ladies' toilets, and they were spotless 👏👏this is definitely a venue we would recommend...
Read moreHave been here twice for breakfast rolls, coffees and scones and I would definitely recommend it to others. It is beautifully decorated throughout and as well as the main dining area, it also has a couple of small tables as you enter which feel nice and private. I love the fact that the Clock Tower which was built in 1931 has been renovated and brought back to life. The staff are very friendly, attentive and eager to please. There is a large outdoor seating area too which is great for dog owners. Today they had lovely autumnal flowers and candles burning too which created a lovely atmosphere. When paying the bill we given a sweetie each which was a lovely touch. Prices are very reasonable. I believe they have plans to open an interior shop next door selling candles etc which will be a great addition too. Looking forward to...

Ordered from the very scarce menu and the chickpea and humus was far too spicy and I politely told the waitress this who kindly asked if I would like something else so I opted for the potato and leek soup that my mum said was “okay”. I was told there was none left and only mushroom soup so I asked for that. The plate of “black” and I mean “black” was disgusting so I put my napkin over it and paid the bill and we left. Cosy little place and lovely staff but so so disappointed in the food. Overpriced and should really think about more...
