I haven’t been to the Coronation for such a long time and have been hearing really good things about it so headed there with my husband and six year old son. We had a wonderful time and all thoroughly enjoyed our food. I am all about flavour and the combo sizzler did not disappoint, it was so tasty and a very generous portion, my husband had the wagyu burger and loved it. The waiter went out of his way to ask about a special request for our son which the chef kindly made, it made a huge difference to our night and our very fussy child ate every bit of his large portion of buttered pasta and chips - thank you very much, we will definitely be back soon!

Visited as a family group of 5 and everyone had nothing but good things to say on the journey home. Already showing signs of improvement since the recent takeover, particularly with presentation. Manager stated their plans to introduce a few more steak and seafood dishes with an onus on local, fresh sourced ingredients. Will definitely be back to sample the new menu whenever it gets launched. The drinks selection was limited but I'm sure this is something they will address. Images are the brie starter and beef burger with added haggis and cheese. Both very tasty. Only slight negative was the bun was a bit dry/stale

We came here before it changed hands and we loved it so we had to have a visit to try out the new menu! The food is unreal and so tasty, the service could have been a bit faster but staff were super friendly! We had the bruschetta to start, the wagyu burger and steak pie for main then we had the mini churros to share for the dessert. Reasonably priced aswell so will definitely be back!

Went here for dinner with the family last week. We’ve been here a few times. It’s never been my favourite tbh but our last visit confirmed that we won’t be back unless they change things up. The waitresses were all very polite and smiley but the overall service was quite slow, especially when waiting for desserts. The pints of beer were disappointing. My father in-law even asked for another pint because it was flat. My starters (fried mushrooms and fried Brie) were nice enough but mains were poor. I had the coronation crepe which sounded nice but the chicken inside seemed very processed and not very fresh. I asked with garlic bread but they gave me chips. They admitted their error and gave me garlic bread. My chocolate cake for dessert was drowned in chocolate sauce which was far too much. Others in the party didn’t particularly enjoy their meal either although there were a few that did like theirs. One of the waitresses accidentally dropped a knife on me whilst collecting dishes. Tartare sauce wasn’t provided with my mother in-laws meal (which it was meant to). The vegetables looked like the ones you got in school dinners. Overall, the restaurant could do with a wee change up. The restaurant is clean and looks nice but the menu hasn’t changed in about 15 years. The meals are always bog...

Tried this restaurant for the first time with a group lunch, the food was excellent with a wide and varied menu. All the meals were served in good time and piping hot, steak pies, gammon steaks and fish n chips, and were all well received by the group, the desserts were to die for with large servings too, all finished off with a nice selection of coffees. Staff were very pleasant and attentive to our needs. We were seated in the conservatory area which although cold outside was very warm and comfortable inside. On my fourth visit the premises have changed hands, instead of experienced attentive and conversant servers we had an inexperienced waiter way out of his depth, the meals were nervously served to the hand and not to the table, the orders arrived sporadically with long delays, plates collected afterwards was a definitely a nervous challenge and for us! coffees took an age and two were missing, but with the delay as it was we didn't want to wait a further 20 mins. The menu and prices have somewhat changed, but with new owners only to be expected, the food was fine. The bill was also incorrect but was amended without fuss. Sadly its just not the same dining experience and it may be some time before I...
