Well well what a gem Bruntons aka Stobsmill Inn is.
As it was our 57th wedding anniversary we decided to book a table for our anniversary. The top bar is great not to big and not to small plenty locals in for a drink noticed Brian Gardener holding court so didn't disturb him....😎😀😎😀. I had a fantastic pint of Belhaven Best🍺🍺 and a gin & tonic 🍸🍸 for the wife.
We were shown down to Bruntons restaurant nice and cool and a great cosy space. We ordered our mains I had the deconstructed Pecking Duck with a twist and the wife had the Salmon both dishes were well presented hot and absolutely delicious 😋 😋. We ordered the Eton Mess 🍧🍧 dessert 🍨 and it came with a lovely 🍓 puree message Happy Anniversary 😊 what a fantastic and unforgettable touch. Great value and price point.
So thanks to our waitress who was amazingly, welcoming, friendly, polite and attentive sorry I didn't get your name. And a big shout out to the chef 👨🍳 and kitchen staff for an amazing meal. We will be back. And if you're reading this review go and give Bruntons your support....

The bar is very clean and welcoming and the staff very pleasant. We sat out in the lovely beer garden which also had a nice bit of shade in it where would could park our pram.
We had a couple of soft drinks which were reasonably priced and we also ordered a Chicken Blaggis and a Tagliatelle with Haggis bonbons to share.
I was genuinely blown away when I saw the chicken arrive, the presentation was immaculate and it tasted superb. My wife was equally impressed with her pasta dish.
Nobody is perfect so if I had one teeny tiny thing it was that the haggis bon bons were a little on the small side for £7 for 3 fairly small haggis balls but everything else was absolutely 10/10 and we were really impressed. Thank...
Read moreFantastic gem of a restaurant. Great food. Kind service and good atmosphere. I had the pasta and bruschetta and ate every bite. Plates of food served to other tables looked just as delicious. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious, and they've used the space well. It wasn't at all what I was expecting - I was just going for a pint in what I figured was a pub. So glad I stayed for food. There's a beautiful walk near the restaurant that goes along the river. You can even follow it all the way to Temple. Brunton's was the well earned reward...
