Popped in for a light lunch before exploring the gardens. My husband and I both had the tomato & chilli soup. The soup tasted fresh, homemade, and had lots of flavour. The wholemeal bread and butter served with it was also great. My husband ordered a latte, which he said was lovely and smooth, but he was not given any sugar and we couldn't catch the waitresses attention as they were busy. Overall, a lovely spot for lunch and would recommend to others to visit before exploring the gardens.

Really enjoyed our lunch at the courtyard cafe today. The courtyard was sunny and sheltered, with umbrellas and space inside for those looking for shade. Staff were great: really polite, helpful and knowledgeable, and food was delicious (cauliflower bowl, toastie, and sweet potato loaded fries). Highly recommend!

The food is outstanding. What a nice hidden gem! Polite and friendly staff. Will need to go back to try the cakes too. I’ve had the best avocado toast ever and my partner had a prego (which is a traditional Portuguese sandwich) and he says it was absolutely delicious and very tender.

We've been here a few times now, whenever we're in the area we can't resist swinging by. The food is of exceptionally high quality, a much better standard of cafe than most you can find in the city actually. It's a bit on the pricey side but with reliably tasty food and some wonderful cake options, don't mind paying a little more as eating here is a wonderful treat. Also the service is flawless, really hard working staff who are professional, friendly and efficient.

The burgers here are our go to meal as we usually struggle to get a properly cooked burger in most restaurants but they really know what they're doing in this kitchen. Their burgers have a perfect smoky flavour, the flavoursome crispy crust from being well seared on the grill and juicy through the middle. Also on offer, they provide a really delicious selection of cakes. We tried a couple of the vegan options and they were surprisingly delicious. The Jaffa cake flavour was my favourite. Highly...

We were staying in the lovely Stables Cottage at Kailzie booked via Crabtree & Crabtree and so we headed to this cafe. In fact we very very happily ate there every day they were open during our 10 day stay and were always met with a warm welcome and a good fire and a ‘oh how to choose’ menu. The food was really great whether a roast Sunday lunch, a sandwich, an unusual vegetarian dish or a divine pudding, tray bake or tasty cake. The staff, front of house and the chef team too, really made our stay at Kailzie, with friendly but super efficient service, and an ideal balance of professionalism and fun. Would recommend our favourite dish but how to pick from milk pancakes, roast belly pork, bubble and squeak, Kailzie Mess, cinnamon swirls…. Many of the dishes have a twist or a bonus. definite favourite there is orange zest. But you’ll have to visit to find out what...

We've been here for lunch quite regularly. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and it's great in the summer to either sit in the courtyard or inside the cafe with the big doors open. It's also really cosy in the winter with the wood burning stove. The staff are always polite and friendly and service is prompt. I have to say the food is always delicious, it feels very elevated and is made with lovely fresh ingredients. We went for dinner here for the first time yesterday and enjoyed every bite of our steak Diane, meze board and lamb kofte. Would...
