My fiancée and I stayed 2 nights in the Suite just before Christmas, accompanied by our two dogs. Firstly, the welcome was so warm - we even received a hand-written welcome note in the room. Every member of staff that we met was super friendly, warm and very personable. The room is beautiful, being recently renovated, with fantastic dual aspect sea views from bed, bath and balcony. The shower was spacious, powerful and modern. The roll top bath next to the window and beside the bed is a very special feature. We both love our food, and both breakfast and dinner were great. The steak and lamb rump were tender, delicious and perfectly cooked; this is exquisite food. I also really enjoyed the Crusoe lager, which is packed with flavour. The hotel is directly beside the beach, making it fantastic for walks with the dogs. When one of our dogs fell ill, the staff went above and beyond to help us with details of local vets, even cooking up some plain rice for her. The service has been amazing. I'd wholeheartedly recommend The Crusoe and this will now be a regular pitstop for us on our way North from the South Coast of England.

Wow ! Had a really lovely meal. I have had Scallops in lots of restaurants and in many different countries but these scallops were easily the biggest and tastiest i have ever had. Amazing. The hotel must have a reputation for their fresh scallops as i heard 3 other people ordering them during the first hour i spent there. All our dishes plus other people's dishes that I saw, were all very well presented The service was very attentive by friendly and helpful staff. This hotel is going through a full refurbishment which they hope will be finished around the end of January 2022. My only negative comment would be that they have done away with their car park, which during the dry weather is not a problem but on a cold or wet night the nearest parking is up the hill and then down steep, unlit, dark steps, back down the hill. They do have 2 possible disabled parking spots at the front of the hotel but only 2.

I stayed here for one night with my partner. The service was great (shout out to Liam in the restaurant who was super, and also the duty manager who was always smiling!). I also thought the room rate was really competitive. The view is really what sells this place - I don't think it's possible to get closer to the beach. Great luxury touches, such as the Laura Thomas toiletries and Nespresso machine. Its such a cosy, friendly place. We dined in the hotel - although the food was nice, it would have been good to have a 'residents rate' as the food was quite expensive (similar to the 'locals night' that they offer). However, the veggie breakfast was amazing!

I booked the table via the restaurants own website for Easter Friday. Party was 4 adults including one using a mobility chair plus one dog.

Food here was excellent, my issue was with the service. Two of us had starters, and when finished those plates and all the used cutlery were cleared away, all four of us had used cutlery to try the starters The main courses arrived in pairs, 5 minutes apart, with no cutlery being replaced on the table. The guy that bought the main courses didn't understand that we needed cutlery and it wasn't until we said knives and forks did did he go away to find them, another 3 minutes. I don't think when you're paying £17 per main it's too much to ask to have the food arrive all at once, piping hot, with eating implements readily available.

The food was good, we had fish and chips, ox cheek and chicken breast. All very well presented and for the most part piping hot. Desserts were great - including ice cream, creme brulé and cheesecake. We had 3 beers and two low alcohol beers as well as a digestif before the final bill was presented. £155 including service charge (10%). I nearly took the service charge off as it took an age to pay the bill. I don't mind waiting for food, as everything seemed so fresh, but waiting to pay is my pet hate. The waiter did apologise for the service issues, and told us they hadn't really planned for a busy Easter weekend! He was very kind, apologetic and knew that things hadn't been quite right, without us having to say anything.

All the staff had been polite, enthusiastic and friendly so I decided to leave the service charge alone. A bit more management presence to explain the staffing issue would have been appreciated and certainly would have taken the pressure off the staff.

I live locally and hope to return. They'll get another chance service wise. I have eaten at their partner establishment in Ratho, and the service there had been...

PERFECTION ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Myself, my bridesmaids, my mum and my now mother in law stayed in the suite and in 3 double rooms the night before my wedding. And my husband and I stayed for the night of our wedding in the suite. We were welcomed by the most amazing staff. Every one of them from front desk, to restaurant staff, bar staff but our favourite was the woman who sorted/cleaned the rooms. Didn't catch her name. Blonde hair. She was amazing ❤️ we were welcomed by lovely signs at the door with our names, the rooms were immaculate!! But the suite, it was Devine. The facilities were incredible, there was a lot of room for ojr party of 8 plus hair dresser, make up artist and photographer the morning of the wedding. Let's not forget THE VIEW😍🌅. The food in the restaurant was delicious, the cocktails even better. On the morning of my wedding we got room service for breaky and everything was perfect. The staff again, first class. We got 4 cars parked outside no problem. Honestly, thank you from the bottom of my heart it was just an amazing stay and we cannot wait to come back!!! Lots of love the...
