A quick visit to the area this afternoon, popped in just before closing, however we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and owner gentleman?, despite it being very near to closing and King Charles bank holiday Sunday, so so sorry. Hubby and I each had a cup of extra hot coffee a slice of Bueno Cheesecake and vegetarian Carrot Cake. Everything was delicious. What a cracking little cafe, so pretty inside with lots of colourful artwork on the walls al lot of which is also for sale. Just sorry we landed so late, hopefully the family that landed not long after we did and our little order boosted your takings today. If we are ever this way again, we will definitely pop in.

Absolutely wonderful cafe nestled between the houses overlooking the bowling green and Garlieston bay. Stare out to sea watching the waves crash ashore and clouds rolling by. The cafe Itself is spotless, warm and welcoming. The staff greet you with a smile and cater for your every need. The coffee is fantastic and served hot! Not lukewarm like many other places. The food is superb - tasty and quality ingredients and is very well priced what what you get. Dogs and walkers are welcome and free WIFI completes the full house. Be sure to visit. It's even worth a short detour if staying nearby. Keep up the great work.

We so enjoyed our breakfast here. What an absolutely cute place. We had a traditional Scottish breakfast and we overlooked the water while we ate it. It was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful since we weren’t sure what we were getting, and the place is super clean. I had the vegan breakfast as I wasn’t sure about the haggis. My husband ate the other one with the meat. We both enjoyed it very much. They also have a really cute little gift shop that has some cute and unique things in it. I loved the ginger beer too. I highly recommend this place!!

After a dog walk at Galloway House we decided to nip into the Hive for lunch. Even though the Hive is dog friendly, it was very busy on a Saturday lunch time so for fear of having two large dogs in a relatively small premises we left them in the car outside and wandered in.

A mix of food ordered between all of us, all of which was superb. Myself I had the soup and toastie combo. A haggis, cheddar and chilli jam toastie, a first for me and was absolutely delightful.

The Hive is adorned with stunning local art availiable for purchase which my father duly did.

Super service, great food, lovely location. Perfect recipe for a...

If this is your café, you should be very proud of what you've achieved. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The staff are really friendly and polite. What a gorgeous selection of cakes and pastries. It really is difficult to choose one. Lovely cup of tea. Great oat milk mocha and skinny cappuccino. We ate flat bread with onion baji etc. - delicious. Chunky veg soup with lentils and a savoury scone - delicious. Roasted pepper and chilli soup with a black pudding sandwich - you guessed, it was delicious. I should also add that the toilet is spacious, very clean and has a changing table (with a selection...
