Sometimes you are lucky enough to eat at a place that is so good, any other meal afterwards is disappointing. Last night in the unlikely town of Alloa, next to a pool hall, the Legends was that place. Although we have not yet been to India, we live near one of the top rated Indian restaurants in Europe (in Reykjavík) and eat it all over the UK and US. We ordered a ghee dosa, Kuttanadan lamb, bhindi masala, mushroom rice, pappadoms with chutneys and pickles, and gulab jam. Everything was at a perfect balance of spices and flavors. The dosa and bhindi masala, things we order often, were on the level of “best I’ve ever had.” Which means that any time we order them now will be disappointing. This is only my opinion, but there is much better Indian food for the price we...
Read moreWe arrived with no reservation but there was plenty of free tables to choose from. The paneer starter was excellent as were the poppadoms and sauces. The main courses of South Indian garlic chicken and marayoor lamb curry were both on the spicy side but were very tasty, as was the pilau rice and keema naan. The staff were excellent, making sure we were well supplied with raitha to help with the spice and drinks were regularly replaced. Would definitely come again and would recommend to anyone in the area looking for...
