The spectacular degree of rudeness by a (post retirement age) female member of staff working in this cafe has led me to post a review, something I would never normally bother to do. I entered the cafe with a very elderly friend who has mobility problems. There was merely a cold officious acknowledgment by staff of our arrival (not even a half smile) or any suggestion we wait for a table and we felt unwelcome. Without any direction therefore, we went to sit down at an empty table that had been cleared as there were two other empty tables yet to be cleared. Said female member of staff snapped at us to wait for her to clear/clean that table. She could have just wiped it over with a cloth whilst we were sat down there but we followed her orders and moved back to the counter area. She wiped it and she didnāt say a word, looking like thunder. We then walked to the table sat down feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome. After a few minutes we decided that we would leave as she was frantically clearing the other two tables whilst other seated customers looked in more need (no one else was waiting). As we stood up to go she started to try to justify her behaviour and I told her that we were leaving purely because she is rude. She then called over to a young female member of staff behind the counter, seemingly with the sole intention to ridicule us about our decision to leave saying that we wanted to sit at a dirty table. Really not good service so beware as she is a most unpleasant character who clearly hates her job. Faulty Towers...

Then an Incredibly rude waitress making my anxious daughter even more anxious and nervous because she was struggling to tell her what she'd like (proceeding to brag that her own daughter would pipe up straight away!) When she did manage to say her order, the waitress shot her down and said no because it was on the child's menu, 15 and under, my daughter is 14! We did get our food in a reasonable time frame, I ordered what was supposed to be gammon egg and chips, I got chips, egg, oil & grease covered gammon! Never again are going to this restaurant/takeaway, waitress must've thought we were tourists! Live local, support local, but...

Arrived on Orkney on a Saturday- which meant very limited food options to begin with. We first went to the Ferry Inn, which looked like a nice pub (that we went for a good beer afterward) but was almost £20 for a fish n chips! We left to come here and so glad we did! £10 for fish n chips and they were PERFECT - the batter was perfectly crispy, not too greasy or thick. You can actually taste the fish, rather than it being tasteless like the usual frozen one. The chips were great and a perfect portion. We also loved the tartar sauce!...
