Visited the Radhuni once again as we love the food in the restaurant but again failed to deliver the food in a reasonable timeframe booked a table for 19:30pm and got Main meal at 21:45pm !!! Got popadoms within 2 minutes and were asked to order meal in 5 minutes when we hadn’t even read the menus !! Starter came in good time after popadoms. After starters were finished at approx 20:15pm this is when the long wait started another 1hr 30mins yes 1hr 30mins until we were given our main meal and not even a suggestion of a complimentary drink while we waited. I had to ask for a drink while we waited which was obviously not our fault. We were about to get up and leave as our appetite was draining by the minute !!! Just a few minutes later the food arrived at 09:45pm. The food was actually lovely but we were very unhappy by this time and our experience was very bad. We tried to enjoy the food under the circumstances and had ate most of our main meal when The waiters kept asking if we were finished so they could clear the table ?? I simply said it took 2 hours to get here you’re not getting your plates back just yet !!! We ended up being the last customers in the restaurant which is the reason we were being asked if we were finished ? All in all one of the worst experiences waiting for food I have ever been been subject to. The kitchen appears to be too small for the size of restaurant or they do too many take aways and can’t accommodate the restaurant customers. Really sorry for this situation as when the food arrives it’s actually delicious. This was the 2nd time in a row we had experienced this waiting time and we thought we would give the restaurant a chance to rectify our previous experience but they failed again. It’s a pity as the food is actually very good but I’d advise a takeaway rather than the restaurant experience !! 3rd January 2023 I have just had a takeaway as the restaurant experience on my last 2 occasions were very poor so I advised above of maybe choosing a takeaway !!
I have just had a take away and now experienced very poor food quality !!!
I will add pictures for the evidence on how poorly the food was supplied. The salad to go with my samosa was brown and obviously had been lying for a long time as that certainly was NOT fresh salad !! We also ordered a Garlic Nan bread al which was most definetly NOT a Nan bread !! If anything it was a very poor substitute of a chapati ???
We have the Radhuni one last chance but I’m afraid they have failed badly !! Maybe we have just been unlucky on our last 3 experiences but I’m sure this is not just a coincidence !! We will now be looking elsewhere to find a proper Indian Restaurant or...
Read moreThe food is not the problem the staff are After eating in here many times they mess orders up Slow service But today took the biscuit ordered over 50 pounds worth in carry out and asked for the chopped onions in a larger tub as it’s tiny they charge 1.00 for the onions I was told no I would need to order another tiny tub for another 1.00 so guess what you got it I cancelled the whole order and we will give them no more business they also argued the fact 2 of them For 10 min that I need to pay extra wow such bad service will lose you regular customers which you need considering the economy right now .
In response to owner /staff member below Yes you did mess my carry out order up before when I ordered a curry and side dish you only gave side dish your staff member came running to my car You are also more expensive than other places charging for rice on a tikka main where most places it’s included you charge 4.00 for a rice is unheard off you are a money grabbing establishment this was proven by your mean portions off onions . They were not a “free “item you charged me for then I only asked for a larger container as the container is tiny and only fits one table spoon of onions . Your response is disgraceful after the amount of business we gave you . Yes times are hard onions are still cheap ! And losing customers will cost you more in the long run . I never expected this response from the owner but guess you tell them all what to do . But you can be assured future customers or regular customers will see the pettiness and greed of...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to revisit this place after several years. Intrigued by its reputation for award-winning curry, we found it to be a modern and spacious Indian restaurant. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and one waiter, in particular, provided excellent recommendations and attentive service. While the extensive menu posed a challenge for my indecisive nature, the waiter's assistance made the selection process easier. We began with haggis pakora and poppadoms with a chutney tray for starters – both quite enjoyable. For mains, my wife chose the butter chicken, and I opted for the Ashoks Special Mix Curry. We shared pilau rice and garlic naan. Although not the best curries we've ever had, they were certainly very good. The garlic naan, soft, buttery, and full of flavour. The last time we had garlic naan it was rather disappointing but The Radhuni do them the way we like. The pilau rice was also satisfying. Despite the quiet ambiance, which surprised us given the restaurant's quality, we thoroughly enjoyed our Indian dining experience. It's a pleasure to have such a delightful local restaurant, and whether it's the best Indian in Midlothian is...
