I recently attended a close relatives funeral catered by Tudor hotel. I was appalled at the service and my relative was charged over £1100 to cater for 65 guests.
The table we were sat at was set for 8 persons. There was a plate of sandwiches on the table with 12 quarter sandwich portions. This resulted in each person having approx 1/4 of sandwich each. I asked the waitress who was serving the table if we could have more sandwiches. The reply was as follows " no, there are no more sandwiches as they have been served around the room".
My mum who is 90 years old is a plain eater and does not like mayo, however, all sandwiches contained mayo. A request for plain sandwiches was made, possibly ham. Again the waitress informed that there was no ham. She was asked if a plain sandwich of any kind could be provided, but again we were informed no other sandwiches were available as they were on other tables.
I did inform the lady at reception of my concerns. This lady was lovely and informed that there should be approximately 3-4 quarters of sandwiches per person and she would speak to the staff regarding these concerns.
After service was finished, the waitress then proceeded to bring out 4 quarters of cheese sandwiches for my mum.
Regarding the cakes. Again there was 8 people at the table and there was a plate with 5 cakes. I then asked for another 3 cakes to ensure everyone had a cake with their tea / coffee. Again I was advised these were scattered around the room and no more was available.
5 mins later, the waitress arrived at the table holding a plate with 3 cakes and made a comment which was very inappropriate. She stated " I have these 3 cakes which I have stolen from the next funeral. This is not acceptable.
The family table had lots of food left over, however, I believe this was to give the family the impression that all of the tables were catered in the same manner.
Upon speaking with relatives at other tables, they advised they encountered the same experience.
I would like to state that the food provided was of good quality, however due to this experience, I would not recommend the tudor to facilitate any funeral functions in the future.
I am flabbergasted, that attending mourners were expected to lift foods from another table due to lack of food supplied. Surely if a table is set for 8 people, there should be enough food at 1 table to accommodate without having to go around a room.
I also emailed my complaint / concerns direct to Tudor hotel, however I they did not even have the courtesy to respond.
I was a frequent customer of the Tudor, however I now wouldn’t recommend the place...
Read moreAs you arrive you are met by a car park full of rubbish which clearly hasn't seen a broom in ages💩||Moving into Reception, I became aware of 2 staff (notice I didn't say greeted). These 2 staff were absolutely ripping the back out of another member of staff🔪 "I'm sick of her stupid little instructions, latest is we gotta stop printing". All the time, I was made to wait whilst they character assassinated the other person 😡, the totally disinterested Reception guy gave me a key and pointed to stairs. Absolutely no welcome whatsoever🤬||On up to my double room #20. OMG, I thought I had been given a filthy broom cupboard. It was tiny and dirty. I am sure it was cleaned by Stevie Wonder😎. Walls were even filthy. Directly outside (1m) away from window is an extractor fan which banged away until 11pm. You couldn't open the window due to vile smell it was pumping out😤 The roof was piled with filth💩which had been there for years. Honestly, if you get this room, turn round and sleep in your car. I honestly think you get a better view at Larkhall 👮. During my stay, there was no hot water whatsoever. Disgusting😠. Walls are so thin you can hear people in next room farting 🤮I|| I had read reviews about the breakfast and wasn't looking forward to it. Totally disinterested food server clearly wasn't looking forward to working that day as eventually turned up, absolutely no welcome whatsoever, just pointed to a table. Eventually (after 10 minutes) plucking up the courage, grunted at me with a menu. I ordered bacon butty and I asked if I could have toast, no you cannot, you are having a bacon butty. Eventually 2 pieces of dry curled up bread and 2 cheap and nasty pieces of bacon are thrown in front of me along with salt and pepper. Really?. Laugh of it is that outside it said breakfast was £9.95. I think I would rate it as £1! Whilst there, I overheard same server being totally rude to 2 guests. I left and got in my car and only wish I had never set foot in this hovel.||If you want anywhere with a welcome, anywhere clean, anywhere warm, anywhere with hot water or anywhere with a decent breakfast DO NOT STAY HERE. Sleep in your car would be more...
Read moreVisited today meal was fantastic , fresh , tasty and great portions. The place was really busy but enough staff to cater for all tables ....face drinks order waited 5/10 mins which is fine was a bottle of wine . Gave order and waited about 15/10 for starter only for main meals to be brought out , then we're taking away then we finally got starters .
On finishing meal we headed to Harry's bar like many other patrons ....wish we hadn't bothered . 1 member of staff ( not her fault especially when the restaurant over run by staff ) the place was pretty busy I ordered two drinks one being a cocktail .. had to wait 15 minutes for cocktail the other table had waited 25 minutes these were getting made in other bar. 2nd round of drinks no bottles of ginger ale for gin other bar had she would go get it , after our first wait my friend said she would go get it herself ...I was wondering were she was ..in this time a couple next to me decided to leave even though they come all the time as nan had stood for ten minutes and too many in front to get served . I also witnessed another table of 4 getting up and leave too Such a shame as we were happy to continue or afternoon in the bar. We left and went to a bar close by and was talking about service and bar staff said you just left Harry's bar your the 4th in here saying same thing and low n behold was the same people.
Such a shame as meal was lovely but with service in bar so poor and having to go elsewhere to continue afternoon a lot of people would pick elsewhere ( I worked it out the people that left was probably £200 and they could've sat for hours
Rectify the bar issues and I literally think you'll be turning folk away each week I will be back if I'm not looking to have few cocktails and driving for afternoon out think it would...
