First evening we ordered from the takeaway. This is a separate desk outside of the restaurant but as they were short staffed this particular day, the restaurant took our order at the bar and we waited there for approx 20 minutes. Ordered 2 pizzas and fish+chips. The latter was beautifully prepared and tasted as good as it looked! The pizzas were only made with mozzarella and no other cheese option so they were quite thick on the topping and not very tasty. No delivery option. We also had lunch and dinner sittings in the restaurant. Beautiful decor, welcoming, bright and high standard of cleanliness. The views are fantastic. Dogs welcome but only in the front section of the restaurant, not through the rear. Similar menu for lunch and dinner and no reduction in price for lunch options. Portions are very generous and very tasty. Restaurant gets very busy and recommend you book in advance.

2023 update: Tried to go for lunch today (Su day) only to be told that the kitchen closes at 2:30. Best to make sure when the kitchen is open. Also, dogs appear to be welcome.e everywhere in The View now. Great carvery on a Sunday as you see and the cooked a couple of sausages for my dog. The view from the view is great, but not for those who have dogs with them, so I can't share any recent photos of the loch and hills. FYI: I asked for no potatoes, and they gave me 2 Yorkshire Puddings! The food was delicious, the vegetablescooked just so and very tasty.. We generally come early and it took some time to order which is why it is not 5 stars.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant with stunning views across the loch. The food was really nice and well presented (I recommend trying the tattie scone nachos). The prices are a little high in my opinion but to be expected in such a beautiful setting. The staff are all friendly and attentive and provide a really efficient service. ***Side note...tip staff if you can afford to, they're not paid nearly enough what their graft is worth*** We visited for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The mussels were nice and the burgers huge and tasty, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the lentil soup may have been Heinz from a can 🤐

We ate at the view restauarant 3 times during our stay, and were disappointed with all three. We went down to breakfast on the first morning staying here, no interaction led to a table, menus sat down and the waiter walked away. Breakfast was okay, however my husband ordered the big Scottish breakfast, the menu stated "fried, poached or scrambled egg" wasnt asked how he would like his eggs and there was no toast as stated in the menu. No check backs to see how food was, tables weren't cleared and we ended up going to the bar to pay for the Pepsi that was not included with breakfast, which was flat. Staff looked miserable. We mentioned that the same 40 seconds of a song had been playing on a loop the whole duration of our breakfast, the staff member laughed and shrugged. Having worked in hospitality previously we both found it pretty shocking.

Went to the boatshed cafe, 7 minutes up the road and got some decent customer service which was so nice after the breakfast we received. Decided we didn't want to eat in The View restaurant for dinner after the breakfast, we looked online realised there was nothing in the area and decided to walk to The Goil, not realising it was owned by the same company. Got there the Goil restaurant wasn't open, no one told us that, nor was there signs at Drimsynie. Decided to have a drink and walk back. At this point we had no other choice than to go to The View restaurant. We were seated by a lovely blonde girl who actually spoke to us, we were in shock but then ultimately served by the same miserable waiters as breakfast. My husband ordered a burger and I ordered the mac and cheese. It's pretty hard to go wrong with mac and cheese, but the garlic bread came out burnt. Asked the waiter for another can of juice and a replacement as he passed, to which he just nodded and walked away. My husband said the garlic bread would likely come out after I finished my mac and cheese, I joked that the juice would be the same. I wasn't wrong. It took about 20 minutes for a can of juice to be brought to the table. My husbands burger was burnt, and the chips were cold. He didn't finish the burger and we sat and waited for a waiter to come by to mention it being burnt. No one came near us. No plates were cleared, no desert offered, no bill offered. We joked that if we didn't stay at the hotel we could have walked out and no one would have noticed. We went to the bar and paid, and left deciding it wasn't worth the aggravation to even try and talk to someone. I wish we had walked out without paying because that food was not worth the money we paid for it.

The next morning we went down to breakfast (we only had breakfast here because it was included) in all honesty otherwise we would have went back to the boatshed. I ordered the big breakfast this time as an experiment, wasn't asked how I wanted my eggs and wasn't given toast. If you don't want to include it, remove it from the menu. Asked the waitress about the toast, and she rolled her eyes (same girl that laughed and shrugged about the music). My husband had the pancakes, the menu stated streaky bacon - it was the same bacon included in the fry up and the pancakes were soggy.

It feels very much like the staff do not want to interact with you, with a few exceptions. The general reception is cold and unwelcoming.

The hotel itself is in such a stunning location with incredible views and nice rooms. The staff and the restaurant really...

Appalling customer service. Staying at one of the lodges on site with 6 guests. Arrived at the restaurant after booking in advanced online. The girl at the desk at reception called Tabatha, blonde hair and piercings. She told us they have no booking and no space to take us. After showing the booking confirmation she said it shouldn't let you book and there's a problem with the booking system. Very rude and unapologetic A number of tables can be seen empty without reserve signs on them and she said it's because of the kitchen and how many tables they can sit. After getting short answers and no apology we went to the takeaway next door, which shared the same kitchen and has some of the same items on the menu. We ordered all 6 meals and told it'll be a 30 minute wait. Fair enough. Whilst waiting another customer came in to complain about his burger. The staff again were very aggressive and standoffish. One girl was sitting on a chair at the side of the counter not working but decided to shout back at the customer. Staff really need some customer service training and some decent manners. Following day we went to order milkshakes. The guy behind the counter this time was very pleasant but so slow. No urgency and turned out to be making Tabatha a milkshake while customers were waiting. We were told it'll be 15 minutes for 2 milkshakes, as there was 2 customers ahead of us. It doesn't take 15 minutes to make 4 milkshakes. Need urgent intervention because we walked away without ordering and you lost our sale. Zero customer service, zero urgency, zero manners. Guests and lodge owners are paying a lot of money and the restaurant and takeaway are a massive let down. Not to mention the general tiredness of the whole place. Pool table has tears in the felt, gym was messy and boiling hot....

Extremely disorganised mess.

I'm writing this review as we wait for a table. A table we should have had 180 minutes ago.

When we checked in at reception, we asked if we needed to book the restaurant. "No, you just turn up" was the answer.

We showed up at 16:50, knowing they opened at 17:00 (my wife is heavily pregnant and getting pretty hangry. Meal timing is out the window). We asked if we could get a table, and were told, to come back at 17:00. Fair enough; that's when they open after all.

17:00: We were told there had been a couple of large tables booked, and that they were neither letting people in or taking reservations. We should come back at 17:30.

17:30, we were told they weren't ready, and to come back at 18:00. 8 months pregnant wife is pretty ratty by this point, and I'm not exactly over-joyed either.

18:00 we arrive again as requested and the restaurant is packed. All the tables are occupied. We are told that "there will be quite a wait" and to take a seat in the waiting area. I explain the above sequence of events, the man doesn't look surprised, or like he cares, and just tells us to "wait over there".

19:00 we are still waiting. No sign that we will be seated soon as groups who queued before us aren't seated yet.

Extremely disorganised mess, poor communication, nobody cares. Would highly recommend you avoid this restaurant unless you have no other option.

The staff they have here look panicked, get flustered, and talk to you impatiently when the queue at the bar reaches 6 people.

To be fair to them, the food might be good but I can't comment on that yet. We wish we'd gone...
