The lovely interior design, spacious layout and comfortable furniture was initially deceptive.||As we settled into our short stay, we noticed that the apartment was very dirty. In fact the dirtiest place that we’ve ever stayed at. ||To mention just a few items here:|- Blood stained duvet cover (it had been laundered but still not acceptable)|- Greasy marks all over kitchen cupboards (evidently not cleaned for a long time)|- Bead heads THICK with dust|- All floors including carpets very dirty / dusty / crunchy underfoot|- Cobwebs |- Overflowing bins on display (see photo of view from bedroom)|- Vacuum full of other customers filth ||We raised concerns with the staff in the main restaurant building, at the time, the waiter was the only one on site but as promised, he arrived later on in the day with a colleague to clean whilst we went out. The “clean” barely scratched the surface. They left a bottle of wine and a note to apologise. ||We raised concern again, this time to a new member of staff. It was obvious that she hadn’t been made aware of our earlier complaint. She kindly offered to pop in and clean, we advised that it needed much more than a “pop”. When she saw the issues, she was visibly shocked. For example, after the “clean” I actually swept the floors and FILLED a dust pan with general mud / dirt that they missed. ||Woodside ask you to pay a £150 damage deposit, empty the bins and strip the beds on departure which is an insult given the shoddy housekeeping standards. We left the space cleaner than we found it as we cleaned the floors and wiped all of the bed heads! ||On both occasions when complaining, we asked to speak to a manager only to be told they’d get a manager to call us (or reservations). Needless to say, we didn’t receive any form of communication from anyone in seniority which is a real shame for the younger team members left poorly equipped to resolve complaints. ||We would not stay there again and would suggest an overhaul in cleaning practices and a professional deep clean / replacement carpets in the...
Read moreOutstanding in every way. My husband and I stayed on Saturday 22nd March, 1 night. We arrived earlier than check in but were greeted by a lovely smiling girl. She was excellent and not only checked the room was ready, which it was, explained all the features of the room. I thought it was a nice touch that she explained the goodies in the room were complimentary - usually you are left guessing.||The roon was lovely, beautifully decorated, a great dressing table and stool, quirky bedside tables, the double plugs either side of the bed were fantastic yet so rare to see. The shower was one of the best we'd had in a hotel. The goody box was a super addition to the room.||We had a late afternoon drink in the downstairs bar which is a great space - lovely atmosphere, super staff and a great range of very reasonably priced drinks.||For dinner, we were delighted to be hosted by Richard who should be the poster gentleman for how service should be. A genuinely caring and attentive person, not in the least intrusive.||If our stay couldn't get better, the next morning we were greeted by another fantastic gentleman at breakfast and we sat next to the patio doors, watching the birds in the garden. The selection was fantastic and the fresh orange was by far the nicest we've had. My husband had a sausage 'butty' and he was not expecting it to look (or taste) as amazing as it did!||This hotel more than meets 4* so don't be put off by the grading of 3*. It's a real gem where every member of staff has been clearly well trained in the art of customer service. It shows just how much management/the owners must care. ||Thanks to everyone for a great experience,...
