Shame we only wanted coffee and cake, we reckon the mains would have been exceptional if the cakes were anything to go by. I had the Victoria sponge, which was freshly made and was like my gran made the other half had a fruit scone which was still warm and again, was exceptional. That just leaves the coffee. The other half thought it was the best coffee she had tasted all week, and she's very particular with her coffee's, believe me. Learned quite a lot about the locals, Edwin Collins to be exact, from the owner so its deffinately worth a visit. Update, this place was so good, made a point of returning in the week with friends. They both had the haddock and said it was very good, all freshly cooked. We both had fresh dressed crab, and they were both excellent. I exchanged my salad for chips and they were the best in a long time. This is a really good plaice😉

Finally, I got to try Thyme & Plaice & wasn't the slightest bit disappointed. Had lunch. Very friendly chef/staff & the food was amazing. Staff were very attentive. Dad & I had lobster & prawn salad, which was very filling. John had a full butchers breakfast. We all had something for pudding. None of us were fit for dinner. I took 2 cakes home to mum. Great value for money & lovely food. Can't recommend highly enough. What a gem of a place. They do late night servings on a Thursday, Friday & Saturday, they serve food until 8pm. Dog friendly.

We stopped in this village on the way up to John o Groats and on the way down. We thought we would try a different cafe to the first visit and we were delighted. To call the staff here friendly would be an understatement, they were fab giving out local knowledge and places to stop on our long journey back to inverness. Tasty bacon and sausage sandwhich. Vegetarian breakfast options available. A lovely oat milk cappuccino. Cash only due to technical problems but this was clearly displayed. The home made cakes looked fab too.

My husband and I had the curry chicken with Basmati rice and naan bread it was delicious the spice on the curry had the perfect amount on it to give it that kick it needed. But I think for future reference the chicken curry needs to be served over the rice and the small salad needs more of the delicious dressing they give you. We also had a slice of carrot cake which was a bit dry. Lemon Meringue pie was good nothing to get excited about. But the cook and waiter where very welcoming and super nice with explaining in detail about their food

But as for the atmosphere kind of small but cute and unique in its...
