VISTA Restaurant at Gleddoch Golf & Spa Resort — Restaurant in Scotland

We booked for my family of four after a visit to the Spa earlier in the day, and overall it was like something from Fawlty Towers. When we arrived the staff seemed confused we were there, and then gave us a soup and salad menu. When queried, they brought us a lunch menu, but when we asked whether we could order from the menu online we were told the starts at 5pm. This makes sense in hindsight, as they will want a cheaper, easy menu for the golfers, but it should state this on the website, which seems to be an issue everyone had. We had booked for a special occasion and it felt much more pub lunch than nice occasion.

Combined with the strangest service I've ever experienced, from drinks service to having to find someone to ask for the bill, it certainly didn't justify its self given 'fine dining' label, or the price.

Our experience at this restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing, especially as we were there to celebrate our anniversary. We waited around 40 minutes for our mains to arrive, which oddly came before our starters — and the starters never arrived at all. Other tables who finished after us had their plates cleared well before ours, and it took around 20 minutes before anyone came to clear ours.

It also became clear that the waitress was actively avoiding our table after realising she had made a mistake with our order, and at no point were we asked if we would like another drink. We then waited a further 20 minutes for dessert.

What made the experience even more disappointing was that no one apologised at any point for the delays or the mix-ups. Overall, the service was slow, disorganised, and inattentive, which really took away from what should have been a special and...

After a lovely spa and massage we looked forward so much to lunch.(included in package ) To cut a long story short restaurant looked as if a function had just ended. We appeared to be a nuisance and of 5 different people who attended to us only one had any clue as to what was meant to be going on. We had a guy who sent us to a girl who walked us back to the guy and then walked us back down the room and eventually sat us down. She barked what we could have included in spa day...another girl took the order...more discussion on what cost extra...another guy came with order and when we pointed out something was missing...he again stated oh that's extra...we know that ! Please just feed us . And finally we got someone to bring bill. Which made no sense given what we were told.I hope we just arrived...
