Itās taken me a while to pen this review. I played last Thursday and here are my comments:
Ā£50 a round. Justified on the phone to me by the pro shop as āthe course being in excellent condition with much investment obviousā. Not true. The course was in horrendous condition.Tee boxes to greens. 60pct of bunkers full of bitumen and resembling a building site. No working driving range. At Ā£20 a round itās overpriced.
Social distancing: none apparent whatsoever. They have the signs up paying lip service to the rules. But in practice itās a different story. To begin you go upstairs to the makeshift reception. Outside members are gathered at the top of the stairs, chatting, drinking coffee and eating their breakfast (Because, unlike other responsible clubs, this club has its restaurant open) making it impossible to get to the reception area without passing through them. When I checked in I announced I had a tee off at 10:36. I was told āthe other 10:36 are down there ready to tee off tooā. I obviously made certain I was playing in a 2 ball and was told āsure. But we normally book 4 balls so weāre booking 2 lots of 2 balls to make up for itā. Unreal!! Needless to say the course was rammed and when we finished there was a long queue of people waiting to tee off. During our round we witnessed 2 people in buggies and a drinks carts going round with no apparent signs of gloves being worn or masks.
My conclusion: During these much challenged times, I donāt mind paying a little extra for a round. I see it as paying extra money for that club to keep me safe. With Redlibbets you are paying at least double price for them to keep you unsafe! With golf clubs realistically facing financial ruin due to them steadfastly sticking to the rules I think Red Libbets doing the blatant otherwise is a disgrace. With our NHS staff fighting for us this golf club is happily sitting back and putting those brave people at strain. Hang your head in shame Red Libbets. I will never be back (not that Iāll be welcome after...

Having previously been a member here between 1998-2000, it's sad to see what has become of this golf course. There's very little evidence of a 'decent' amount of maintenance taking place on the course. It has been a dry spring for sure, and clearly the club is finding it difficult to keep tee boxes and greens watered. Fair enough. They must be struggling financially, which is a great shame. The tee boxes are mostly sand and very tatty looking. The greens are rock hard but running exceptionally smoothly it has to be said.
The general state of the fairways is reasonable enough, but bunkers and just about every grass area is extremely poorly maintained. Rough grass has been left to weed patches in lots of places and the overall aesthetic of almost every aspect of the course is incredibly ragged looking.
The clubhouse used to have a good sized pro-shop. This is now a counter inside the restaurant. The restaurant used to be a big spacious lounge area upstairs with a beautiful fireplace. I believe the upstairs is purely a function area now, so all golfers are crammed into the one medium sized room downstairs, for food and drinks. Another cost saving measure and a sign of the times, no doubt.
I wouldn't want to pay £50+ for peak time golf here. It's such a well designed golf course but, sadly, when courses fall into the hands of group owners, this is something that happens.
I don't see how they are going to attract more visitors and members unless the course is put into better condition.
The course has such potential, in terms of its attractive design and layout. The original course designer must be sad to see it in such poor condition. Gutted. I had high hopes...

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere. One of the standout features for me was the ease of parking. Finding a spot was a breeze, which immediately set the tone for a stress-free experience.
As I explored the venue, I couldn't help but be impressed by the exceptional value it offers considering its prime location and the impeccable quality of its decor and facilities. The attention to detail in every aspect of the club's design is truly remarkable, creating an inviting and luxurious ambiance that makes you feel right at home.
However, what truly sets Redlibbets apart is its outstanding staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and a willingness to assist. The staff members are not only easy to engage with but also incredibly helpful, polite, and courteous. Whether I had a question about the facilities or needed assistance with anything, they were always there to ensure my experience was nothing short of perfect.
Overall, my visit to Redlibbets Golf and Country Club was nothing short of exceptional. From the friendly atmosphere to the convenient parking, top-notch facilities, and outstanding staff, every aspect of my experience exceeded my expectations.
