Read moreWe've had dinner at the Royal Oak seven or eight times, now. It's an unpretentious, proper pub, with warm welcome and atmosphere and decent beers, but the star of the show is the food. We've had amazing skate, French onion soup to die for, proper cod and chips, venison that's out of this world, a delicate plaice, and of course, the "filth" burger, which is divine. Not to be missed. Read moreWent in for a meal while staying at Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa. The Royal Oak is very handy for the hotel and for a Brandshatch circuit. The bar atmosphere was great, some car themed decorations, otherwise traditional, but open and warm. We ate in the small tabled section which is quieter and not quite as comfortable, but still good. The food was lovely, generous and reasonable value. The antipasti was great and their filthy burger was fairly heavy, but tasty. The house merlot was lovely, great value....
