The food was just superb, good sized portions and all the menu is cooked from scratch to perfection by an obviously talented experienced chef. Liver and onions was sublime as was everything we ordered. Service was efficient and quick. The landlady l, Emily is lovely and fits the place perfect. We finished with a darts competition which was great.. my husband was given a small glass with a birthday shot, nice touch. I’d definitely recommend the Top House as the locals call it. Read moreThe pub is really small and is taken over by locals .. Its hard to get to the bar because of the hop skip n jump you have to take over peoples dogs which really make a small room smell. The owners do not keep control of their dogs nor will they move them out of the way for you so expect your dressed up clothes to get covered in hair on the ankles .The other side of the pub was nice a quite looks lovely food looks great , you cant believe its the same pub actually. I would go for a meal here and probs a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon but I dont fancy visiting the zoo again on a weekend ..the landlord was very chattie a polite but maybe a suggestion ask the locals to keep dogs away from entrance of the bar door or the score...
