Amazing local pub. Welcomes everyone. The landlady and family are so welcoming. The food is fantastic. All freshly cooked to order. Good entertainment on some weekends. Child and especially dog friendly. Car park to the rear with a small play area out the back. Outdoor seating on the front. It is absolutely lovely on a sunny day. Thank you for making us all welcome.

Most uncomfortable meal with the landlord/manager? Constantly having a go at the young waitress telling her what to do in a very loud voice. , basic instructions that should have been covered before hand. She was working very well and did know what was required of her, it wasn't necessary to keep giving instructions when he himself wasn't particularly doing anything. Both he and his son (who was dressed as a member of staff) went missing upstairs to ..'see to mum) twice. Leaving the young woman to serve drinks. Take food orders.deliver said food. Provided cutlery and sauces. And clear tables. . Twice in the one and a half hour that we were there he came out of the bar to smoke an e cigarette puffing vast quantities of smoke. Food items were not available. Understandable if they've had a busy weekend and were awaiting delivery of goods. But that wasn't the excuse given once again in a loud voice. The food was ok and reasonably well presented other than a order if sticky toffee pudding which when it came was mainly a bowl of syrup and custard with a crooked finger of pudding. It looked disgusting. Although I must admit my husband cleared the plate, alas we were supposed to be sharing I couldn't bring myself to eat any of it. He then finished this not so delightful meal by yet again having another go at the waitress for talking to the kitchen staff. I don't know about anyone else but I don't go out to have lunch to listen to members of staff being constantly bullied any instruction should be done quietly and privately. I did voice my displeasure to him on leaving the premises and WILL...

I've been to the New Inn twice this week, both times for food.

The first night I decided to have home-made lasagne with garlic bread. The lasagne was absolutely beautiful and went down perfectly with the garlic bread. It was served to me fairly quickly and most importantly with a smile!

The second night I went with the home-made meat and potato pie. It was delicious, the pastry was clearly home made and according to the chef, it had a special mix of herbs and spices which made it perfect! Can't praise both meals highly enough.

I hadn't been to the New Inn for a few weeks due to seeing family over Christmas etc but since the re-fit, the whole place has taken on a new lease of life. It's definitely...

The beer was absolutely dreadful & that was on the opening night! should be fresh - tasted stale & flat. They should call the place the Ditchwater not the Water Tower. Only just managed to finish first drink then rapidly swapped to a different brew, which was just as bad & to top it off - overpriced - for the price they were charging I'd expect proper quality drinks not the bile they served up. Might help if even half the staff gave an appearance of knowing what they were doing, obviously training the workforce does not have any sort of priority. Didn't order food - not risking the pricey fare only to find it as appetising as the beer....
