I have, after much thought and time to let issues calm, decided to give feedback on our experience at your establishment on the above date. I would like to start with the few positives that were experienced:
Positive: -Tam? Managing to seat us when I had miscalculated the guest numbers -the lovely manner/service of the woman working on the bar -the nice manner of Mina the 2 times she attended to us -how well cooked the food was by Tam the chef (agency chef I believe)
Negative: -your advertised menu online is NOT what we were presented with at the restaurant, I believe This is false advertising and as of today you STILL have not updated it -£38 for a fatty sirloin steak with a blob of watercress on top DOES NOT warrant £38. Even in a run of the mill miller and carter in Edinburgh (which on ALL counts is miles higher in standards than here and actually anywhere to eat in Portree) serves sides and better quality produce and manages it for less -every part of our service from Tam? Was awful. He was rude, when thinking he was funny. He accused us of not ordering items which we did which actually made us feel so uncomfortable for the remainder of our dinner -mussels which take minutes to cook which my son ordered came when we had half way eaten our own dinners.
I was more taken aback by the £350 bill (only 2 of our party of 5 had 2 courses may I add), which had the cheek to apply a service charge....oh yes we did get the bottle of wine free (we are locals) but given we spent a good 20 minutes trying to get someone's attention to remind them that we ordered it, I think that was the least that could have been done.
I never complain and I feel for the few staff that night who were doing their best. But the prices for below par quality produce, a services charge for literally shocking service brings...
Read moreAvoid at all costs! The worst service I have ever experienced in Skye and to be honest anywhere. Booked the restaurant for a special birthday, weeks in advance, then received an email confirming the booking the day before to then arrive on the night of my birthday to be told the restaurant has been closed for days.
Shocking service that there were no staff at the hotel at all to inform us that we would in fact not be having dinner. No apology received and the reservation was for 8pm so now all restaurants in Skye are fully booked or closing their kitchens.
I won’t be back and I will happily tarnish their name all over the rest...
Read moreWe actually wandered into Dulse and Brose to see if there was room at the restaurant. We were met by Lucy and Izzy who were really welcoming. Although full Lucy went out of her way to show Highland generosity by getting us a seat at Am Braigh and ensuring we had a ride there and back. The level of service was unprecedented. Lucy, Faye and the entire team at Am Braigh provided an incredible experience for me and my dad. We will definitely...
