I had an amazing day yesterday hiking in Isle of Skye!!
It was a bit tricky setting up arrangements but Sarah (owner) kept messaging me back and even left a few voice messages to keep me in the loop. I would call myself pretty adventurous so I wanted a challenge. Jordan did not disappoint!! - There are multiple routes and I choose to take a more challenging one. The views were spectacular absolutely stunning. With this tour group we went to some parts of the trail that no one else was on. Jordan is also a bit of an environmentalist so he made sure we didn't go in areas that would possibly distrupt/add too much impact to further erosion in the area. I learned so much about the healing capabilities of the plants in the area.
The weather was quite nice for me but be sure to pack rain pants, rain jacket, waterproof hiking boots with ankle support, a hearty lunch and water (as needed).
To add more cherry on top, Sarah was the first female trail guider in the area. It's a shame she's the first but I'm happy I was able to support her and her amazing crew. So knowledgeable, book/email now and you don't regret it.
Getting here was a nightmare. I'm staying in Inverness so the only way out there is by car it took about 3 hours. Just be mindful of all of you cost because it quickly adds up and possible consider staying in Portee to save on time and have better views when...
Read moreI had one if the best days of my life about 2 weeks ago Canyoning with Gus from Skye Highland Adventures. I’d never been canyoning before so I was afraid I’d bitten off more than I could chew & with the weather being a bit icy for an Aussie! I was so completely wrong to worry. We wore so many wetsuits that I was completely comfortable & warm the whole time. I felt completely safe with Gus who was very professional, experienced & knew each rock like the back of his hand. He carefully stepped me through every step & I was too blown away by the beauty of where we were to feel afraid. If you want to experience a beautiful untouched area of Scotland in a way you won’t get anywhere else, I highly recommend canyoning with these guys. The water reflected the green of the rock underneath it & was so clean you could drink it. I also have a “wee” fear of heights which I was able to conquer by jumping off the waterfalls. It was soooo much fun! As a side note - I wore waterproof walking shoes from mountain warehouse, thermal socks & thermals over my swimmers but I’m not sure that...
Read moreOn the 4th of July we had signed up to do a gorge walk and it turned into a coasteering adventure. The weather was really awful and one of our friends ( that chose this as her bucket list adventure) while abroad caught COVID. We did not want to leave her in a foreign country without help so we had to cancel. Sarah, offered to reimburse us half the cost. We were delighted. It seemed fair to us. After arriving home and not getting a credit, I sent emails and left phone messages. To my wonderful surprise Sara contacted me on 9/16 and stated she would credit us and apologized for the missed reimbursement. She was extremely professional and kind. To our parties surprise she did credit us our full amount. I can only hope and pray that this business is very successful now and in the future. They are a class act with a great business scenes of customer service. They went above and beyond. We were all disappointed we were not able to participate in their adventures but hope others will and trust them to be honest....
