A Luxurious, Romantic Wedding Stay at Coruisk House, Isle of Skye…

We spent two unforgettable days at Coruisk House for our wedding, and it was the perfect setting for a truly special celebration. From start to finish, the experience was seamless — a rare combination of luxury, comfort, and deeply personal hospitality.

The accommodation was outstanding. The rooms and the cottage ‘An Nead’ are beautifully styled, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully laid out. It’s the ideal retreat for travellers seeking a luxury, romantic escape on the Isle of Skye.

The food was exceptional. The wedding dinner was a fine dining experience in itself. Clare and Iain, the owners, personally guided us through the menu choices and wine pairings for our day; matching each course with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. They delivered four exquisite and delicious courses that were not only tailored to our preferences but also full of creativity and flavour.

Clare also went above and beyond in helping us arrange aspects of our wedding that weren’t even her responsibility — her support was invaluable. Their calm, thoughtful approach turned what could have been a stressful few days into something joyful and relaxed. They anticipated our every need with care and attentiveness.

If you’re looking for a unique boutique hotel with exceptional food, warm service, and luxury accommodation on the Isle of Skye, Coruisk House is a true gem. It’s the perfect destination for a romantic getaway, an intimate celebration, or a memorable stop on a Scottish Highlands journey....

We wanted to visit Skye but didn’t want to feel surrounded by tourists. Luckily a Scottish friend recommended Coruisk House, which was perfect. He promised “remote, rugged, quiet heaven” at Coruisk with Michelin-caliber food, and that’s exactly what we enjoyed. We’ve both worked in restaurants for years and we’re quite critical, but Iain exceeded our expectations, offering genuinely stunning food that reflects and respects Scotland – everything is locally sourced, cooked with incredible care and skill, and presented beautifully. I will dream about the hake with grilled squid, served alongside pheasant mousse with squid tartare! I’m the daughter of a lobsterman and Iain’s lobster bisque was far and away the best I’ve ever had. The wine list is really thoughtfully curated – Clare and Iain know several of the wine producers – and there was a lovely range of prices and wonderful choices. Our room and the entire house was sparkling clean, cozy, and chic – from the homemade candy to the dreamy linens to the fireplace, Coruisk House wrapped us up in warm hospitality and gave us three lovely days, even when it was pouring outside. Clare gave us wonderful advice for the rest of our trip, too.

Our Scottish friend said that “staying with Iain and Clare reminded me that pairing beautiful accommodations, off the beaten track locations, and world-class dining is the way I want to live,” and if any part of you thinks you might want to stay at Coruisk House,...

My (now) wife and I stayed and dined here for our wedding which we had down on Elgol beach in late August. The entire experience from start to finish was absolutely incredible.

The "An Nead" (the nest) thatched cottage was the perfect cozy retreat after our long days out exploring Skye. It is expertly put together with lots of attention to every detail.

We also took the four course menu at the restaurant three times in a row and each night we didn't think it could get better but it did. We were impressed by the local sourcing of ingredients, high quality of preparation and the nuance of each dish.

The wine list is extensive and personally researched by the ever-so-kind owners, and you really feel like they are welcoming you as old friends or family into their home.

The location is just five minutes drive from Elgol beach, which is also the jumping off point for boat trips to Loch Coruisk. At first the boat trip was a second thought for me, but we quickly realized that it is a once in a lifetime experience and a major attraction on Skye. The wildlife, the ocean air, and hiking around a lake that has stood alone untouched for millennia is such a breathtaking experience.

On the whole, we were extremely pleased with our time at Coruisk house and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. I would highly recommend dining, staying or preferably both whether for a special occasion or just as an opportunity to get away from it all, you will...

This was a detour for us but very worth it. We were hoping for good weather and a sunset but knew odds weren’t in our favour, but the food and service more than made up for it. We contacted them as we knew they closed 1 day a week but they graciously hosted us! We had the entire inn to ourselves and a private dinner. Food was amazing! We stayed at the Glencoe house the night before supposedly known for their food , but wow! This self-trained chef blew them out of the water. Heavy focus on fresh local fare, every dish was on point. Breakfast was another treat. Best granola I’ve had. Even delicious tablet as a welcome gift! We saw coos on the way and I could not get over how beautiful the fresh tulips in November were. How did they source them this time of year? Oh the details!! So quiet as well. Highly recommend even if you don’t get a lovely sunset. The people are warm and the food delicious!!
