Nice Restaurant The menu was quite special. Got venison, beef cheeks and lamb pasta. Overall everything tasted good. Delicious and tender beef and venison. Personally I prefer the mashed potato than the layered potato. The vegetables were not overcooked. Everything was correctly seasoned with good balance. You know, the side didn't taste bland after you bite the main. Glad that the bread pudding was not too sweet. Personally I hate dessert being too sweet. The staff was very efficient. Wanted to get our order as soon as giving us the menu. The restaurant area was clean. Lovely environment. Just some problems with the toilets. They were really smelly when customers passed by in the narrow corridor.

Great community pub! The guy who greeted us and took our orders was amazing and so attentive. Great food and dessert. Very welcoming and felt very relaxed about the whole evening and meal. The chocolate fudge tart was incredibly rich but with the crème fresh it cut through the tart and gave such amazing flavours. 5/5 Came back this Sunday for roast lunch and while the beef was amazing and cooked great! the vegetables were undercooked and the women running the pub instead of being apologetic said it's Al dente which is fine for pasta but not root vegetables that require me to put strain on the knife to slice through. 2.5/5

The Plough & Fleece went through a bad patch after the landlady left. We stopped coming. We tried again after some time, a change of chef and landlord later. It has become great again no more 'poncy' food. Efficient, really great pub food, great beer and extra lovely staff. What more can you want? We feel happy to bring our friends here again. We'll done, don't change it guys ✨

Waited around 40 minutes for 3 meals then only 2 were brought out. 10 minutes later my meal arrived but when I started eating the fishcake was COLD in the middle so i sent it back. Chef came out and disagreed with me he said it wasn't cold! I was offered a replacement but I declined as I didn't want to eat when my friends had finished, I was offered drinks but I was driving, when we paid I said to the waitress that I didn't like the chefs attitude that I felt he was accusing me of lying...I did want my lunch actually. Chef came storming out and told me to stop being rude to the waitress, I wasn't. He apoligised but i felt he said it begrudgingly. Unfortunately (I'm partially disabled, I have to push on something to stand up) I pushed on the table and it tipped a glass tumbler onto the floor, it bounced once then smashed into 1000 pieces. Chef came running out with a face like thunder. I said it was an accident, which it was, I said sorry several times, the staff said nothing. Karma. Will not recommend this place to anyone or ever go...

Booked a table for two at very short notice for our anniversary today (10/08/22).

Was offered indoor seating but we chose to sit at one of the many outdoor tables as it was such as lovely evening.

Had three courses each and some drinks and cannot fault the meal or the service - apart from the two Knickerbocker Glory that we ordered. There was some delay in serving those but it does not detract from the excellent overall experience. Very reasonably priced for what we ordered - including two 10oz steaks cooked just as we asked - and we would not hesitate to highly recommend.

One thing to note: there is a petanque court in the garden and tonight there was a match about to commence (8pm?). We did not ask the players if this was a weekly event but again, it did not affect our...

5 Stars – A Truly Special Community Pub

The Golden Fleece in Horningsea is a real gem — a community-run pub with heart. The staff are always incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the food is consistently high quality. The portions — especially for the vegetarian roast — could be a little more generous, but the quality more than makes up for it.

What really stands out is their hospitality. When a close friend passed away, they went out of their way to support us during a difficult time. They welcomed us with kindness, allowed us to hold a wake there, and even sent us off with a drink for the after-gathering. We genuinely couldn’t have found a better place to be.

Thank you to the team for always making us feel at home. Highly...
