The place is nice, likely the best in the area. It's small, but well furnished and organized: offers a warm welcoming feeling without being oppressive, with well distanced tables. Service is always good, nice and kind, and this reinforce the welcoming feeling. The food offer is superior from the common pub, with some European touch here and there. So, why 4 and not 5 star? Because even if is generally good quality food, with the right care on ingredient's sourcing, there are some imperfections in preparation. For example, the pizza really looks as a perfect homemade one, with really well and carefully chosen ingredients, but has also the limitations of the homemade food, and doesn't reach the proper pizzeria level (likely due to an oven temperature limitation). Said that, is still a way better pizza than the one you could find from big pizza chains or kebab places around this area. In other preparation I spotted some other little mistake, likely due to some sporadic distraction in preparation. If you arrived to read so far, here's your reward: the cakes (and specifically the cheesecake) are amazing, well prepared and perfectly served. In conclusion, even if I didn't gave the 5 star, I still recommend, if you are around this area, to absolutely visit this place and enjoy the experience of good food offered by nice people.

You often never know what you are going to get when you book online but this pub was five stars without hesitation. The room was really comfy and very stylish with an en-suite and rainfall shower. The staff are lovely and the owners were friendly and really accommodating. There are three rooms above the pub and a kitchen where you can help yourself to a continental breakfast of cereals, fresh juice, waffles and croissants including yogurts and fresh fruit. There are teas, coffees and fruit teas plus hot chocolate. Loved the sweety jar! There is a toaster and microwave too. Everywhere was very clean. We ate in the restaurant on one of the nights and had fabulous pizza. Really interesting menu with plenty to choose from. It was difficult to choose what to have. The bar sells guest ales and cider. I had the NZ Sauvignon Blanc which was excellent. Its location is well located to Cambridge and Ely. Both worth visiting. There are supermarkets close by and a co-op and one stop in the village. If you fancy a curry, the local curry house was fantastic, if a little blue on the inside (the lighting). We would definitely return. A wonderful stay.

Absolutely amazing food with no stingngeyness of servings! Portions were great size! Great service and staff were super friendly and welcoming! We were not dressed like the locals at all, which were all suited and booted and dressed to impress, but we were not treated any different what so ever! We came in with our 2 kids and they accommodated for them so well, had a booster seat brought out for our 2 year old. And was told anything on the menu they can adjust and make into a children sized portion. My eldest said her food was better than Mummy's and wanted to take the rest home to finish it later! My partners steak was cooked to perfection and he thoroughly enjoyed it. My feta tomato baked chorizo pasta was lovely! Usually going into places with children and dressed in the usual parenting clothing we would often be spoken down to and watched like hawks but we were treated so respectfully and they are very genuine there and made us feel at ease ! Strongly recommend 😊

Visited here first weekend of September. The hotel’s appaearance and style is lovely and lovely touch of leaving some chocolate in the room on arrival. Liked the kitchen area and the general appearance of the hotel. Excellent shower. ||However, a few key areas really let the stay let down. Firstly, the bed was clearly two singles pushed together, not a double which left a bit, uncomfortable gap in the middle meaning to sit on it or sleep meant being pushed over on one side - would have actually been more comfortable to just sleep on a single beds ||2. the room had a large bright green fire escape light above the door which meant the room was bright and made sleeping difficult - no way of turning this off and really did flood the entire room to the extent that I was forced to try and make shift a barrier with a blanket to try and block out some of the light! ||Lastly, breakfast had a really poor choice. I was aware it would be continental which is great as I am not a huge fan of cooked breakfasts. However, the the selection on offer consisted of the following: 2 small loaves of standard sliced bread, 2 (quite stale) croissants, some small shop bought muffins, yoghurt, 2 choices of cereal (alone and granola with either nuts or no not) a bowl of red grapes and 1 small, browned banana. Sharing this was myself and the couple in the next room - so there was not enough for 1 croissant each or a banana each. There were no jams or white bread left in the morning after the other couple had made toast the previous evening (the small selection was put out before our arrival) so there was limited options available. Yoghurt and grapes don’t mix - would have been nice to have some berries or more fruit selection and muffins are not the best breakfast choice - in my view, a continental spread should include pastries and 2 croissants between 3, with no jam or other pastry options was disappointing.||||The 2 most basic things for a bed and breakfast is a good comfortable nights sleep which I couldn’t get because of th bright light in the room and big divide in the bed, and breakfast which was disappointing. ||||A real shame because the hotel itself was lovely and had real potential to be excellent, was just let down by some key areas. ||||Sadly I wouldn’t...

During our recent stay at this B&B, my partner and I, both of whom have traditionally male names, encountered an issue that brought to light an important consideration for the hotel's booking process. Our room was initially prepared with twin beds, which seemed to be an assumption based on our names. This incident has underscored the need for the hotel to reevaluate its room assignment policies to prevent making assumptions about guests' bedding preferences based on their names or perceived relationship, ensuring an inclusive and respectful approach for all guests.

Given this experience, I suggest that the hotel consider making twin beds the default setting for room configurations, allowing guests to request a double bed if that is their preference. This adjustment could help minimise assumptions and ensure a more comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of the nature of their relationship.

Despite this initial oversight, our concerns were quickly addressed after we communicated them to a very attentive staff member. (However, this prompt resolution makes me reflect on the possibility that, had we arrived later, the issue might not have been resolved as smoothly).

The room was reconfigured to feature a double bed within 45 minutes, which I was very impressed with, during which we enjoyed a delightful meal in the dining area. The food was slightly pricey but justified by its freshness and quality.

The room, once adjusted, was spacious and inviting. The combined beds created a large and comfortable sleeping area. The bathroom was simple yet impeccably clean, and the shower stood out for its ample space and consistent hot water, accommodating even for someone of my height of 6ft 4.

We were also pleased with the shared kitchen, which was well-stocked for breakfast and even late-night snacks, including chocolate yoghurts.

Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, thanks to the staff's willingness to accommodate our needs. We look forward to returning but will make a point to specify our bed configuration preferences in advance to avoid any confusion. This experience highlights the importance of adaptable and considerate hospitality practices that cater to the diverse needs...
