Cafe Cru — Restaurant in South Derbyshire

Was a bit disapointed to be honest, we went instead of our usual place when we have breakfast out because they do "eggs benedict". We should've have asked for the bacon to be well done that is on us but the hollandaise sauce (which is stated on the menu which is the norm with eggs benedict) was actually mayonaise with possibly a bit of salad cream mixed in or something to try and give it a tang I dont know but it definetly wasn't hollandaise sauce not only was the taste a give away but it was cold, luckily it was served in a small ramekin and not poured (spread more like with that stuff) over our, just cooked bacon decent poached egg and one side toasted bun I know it is difficult to make hollandaise from scratch but you can buy sachets that you just add milk to or even pouches that can just be warmed up.

Im sure their other food is fine but I dont recomend having eggs...

Ordered 2 bacon and egg sandwiches and a large luxury hot chocolate at the cost of over £11. Expensive but worth it if it tastes great. Hot chocolate tasted amazing but definitely was not a large size. I asked for crispy bacon and the fat hadn't been cooked through properly and was still clear. Fantastic Full English breakfast, all freshly cooked, lovely seating area upstairs, clean with polite staff. Save your money on supermarket cafe breakfast or pub breakfast.
