It was busy with mid morning customers and the outside seating was in the sunshine. Great we thought. But having sat down you could see it could be so much better. Firstly, area immediately outside the cafe looked tired and in need of some attention. There was a decorative wrought iron screen which needed painting, there was split manhole cover which was a safety risk to customers and the edge of the slightly raised terrace look unfinished. I ordered an oat milk cappuccino, a latte and a cup of tea from two very nice children inside the cafe but we waited 15 minutes to be delivered to the table and they got one drink wrong. From Kingsbridge the A379 passes through the villages of Aveton Gifford, where it crosses the River Avon, and Modbury, shortly after which it crosses the River Erme. Modbury has a lovely Coffee Bar called cool beans at 4 Chene Court, Modbury, PL21 0QL. The coffee is fabulous and the staff are very friendly and professional. Well worth a visit. Read moreOrderd a sundried tomato, pesto and Mozerrella toastie on focaccia. They were out of focaccia which was fine so I had it on sourdough bread. The sandwich ingredients were generous and tasty unfortunately they had burnt one slice of the bread and I mean really black burnt and inedible. The burnt piece was placed on the bottom so it wasn't until I was home eating it I realised how burnt it was. If I had been eating in I would have sent it back.
