George And Angel — Restaurant in South Holland

First time visited these premises, we had 3 guests who were family. I was embarrassed by the front foyer which had obviously not been cleaned or swept for a long time. The one page menu came with about 15 meals listed, but when the waitress came she read out about 6 items that wasn't available, other than 1 all chose the chicken and to be fair that was quite reasonable. When we asked for the dessert menu, we were told to wait while she see what was available, on her return we were told there were no desserts as were waiting for a delivery. Went tonight for a birthday meal. The staff were extremely polite and the service was fantastic. The food…… the food was brilliant. We had the lasagna, best home made lasagna I have had in years. The other meals were just as good. Chicken and bacon stack, hunters chicken. All cooked to perfection, all dishes were served in generous portions (talk about value for money). We visited this pub for lunch. We had not pre booked as we had been on a boat trip and happened upon the pub when looking for something to eat and drink. They made us welcome and were happy to serve us due to us being a small family. Our dog was welcome too. We sat outside as weather was nice the food was really good and at 2 meals for £12 was a great deal for families. The staff were lovely they food was very good and generous portion....
