I was passing through Crowland as part of a cycle ride from Cambridge to Lincoln, I first noticed the cafe because there were a lot of bikes outside, I was feeling peckish so decided to go in. The reason for the bikes was that a group of 10 or so cyclists were inside eating scones. I ordered beans on toast and a hot chocolate, the service was really friendly and really quick. I also got a banana cake wrapped up to take away. The food was great, the service quick but personal and the cafe was clean and tidy. I think it was just a coincidence that there were cyclists in when I was passing and I'd highly recommend this place whether you're on two wheels or not.

Nice tearoom with a variety of sandwiches, toasties, panini, jacket potatoes and soup. Homemade cakes and scones are delicious. Ladies very friendly. Reason for not giving 5* is because when we walked in it wasn't very busy and the best seats were the window seats which had dirty tables. I had to ask for it to be cleaned. It very quickly started filling up and another couple had to move dirty crockery to sit at a window seat. Please clean tables as soon as people leave, it doesn't take long and will leave a really good lasting impression I can assure you.

The Deepings NWR ladies descended on the cafe yesterday following a marvellous tour of Crowland Abbey. What a warm welcome we received despite being slightly late for our booked tables. This is a lovely asset to the town, such a friendly place with delicious cakes and meals and excellent coffee. Everyone was delighted with the cafe, service and food. Thanks very much to The Old Paper Shop. We shall be back.

Wouldn’t recommend if you have a baby. Went in with a couple of mum friends. Our babies were asleep. Making no noise and causing no issues but a staff member seemed to think that she should apologise there were babies there to the two other customers making us feel really uncomfortable. She was then very short with us when we were ordering and got very annoyed when my friend asked if she could have an extra hash brown rather than toast with her breakfast. Was made to feel like we weren’t wanted there. Not a nice experience. Won’t be returning. Other mum friends have had similar issues here so we now go outside of Crowland each week for our catch up lunches and have actually found some other really lovely local places that are a lot...

We had a long wait to be served. Specials board showed soup which when we ordered were told they had run out but didn't remove it from the board and we heard several people asked for it. We ordered paninis which had a salad and coleslaw accompaniment. When it arrived there was no coleslaw and they said that what they had made had run out. We feel it would have been better to pop across the road to the Spar shop and get some than leave the plates with just a few drapes loaves of lettuce cucumber and tomatoes.. It had been recommended by a local person. There was no offer of a small price reduction for not fulfilling there order. They would not have mentioned it if we had not asked about the missing accompaniment. We wont...
