The Kings Head — Restaurant in South Norfolk

Just a little sad really.

The opening day at the Kings Head in April this year, I really couldn't fault. The signature burger was spot on. With the option of bacon, a choice of cheeses, egg, + a generous portion of 'your choice of fries', with room for a bit of salad & coleslaw on the side. Amazing!

Yesterday, we went back. The burger, although well cooked, was pretty dry due to being sandwiched between a toasted bun with no sauce/relish. No salad or slaw on the side anymore. Just a lettuce leaf, some tasteless American cheese & a thin slice of tomato & pickle in the burger to liven up the handful of skinny fries that came with it.

It was just a little sad really. & now they've increased the price to 14 quid; I expected more.

Certainly more than the thimble-full of mayonnaise that was rationed between us upon request for condiments.

The beer was alright if you like a humdrum Wherry or Ghost ship. As that's all that was available on draught. Perfect accompaniment to the deathly silent atmosphere. (Even on a Friday night)

Just disappointing really. Went there with the family because of the great reviews and really expected something better. When we first arrived we were told that there are no roast dinners left available, which wasn’t massively inconvenient. However when we were sat we were told that there were no chicken, fish and steak. Food is definitely overpriced for what you are served. The drinks were flat, despite being complementary as an apology for the lack of food. Service was slow as the waiter was unaware of what food was available and what wasn’t, but she was a nice girl. The restaurant had made no effort to contact us about the lack of food, however told us that there sister restaurant was available and still had all of their food, but we didn’t end up going as it was 20 minutes away and very inconvenient. The worst service I've ever experienced, didn't have the drink I wanted offered me an alternative and said it was orange flavour when it wasn't it was iron brew, I then said I didn't like iron brew so settled with something else, the barman then decided he wouldn't serve me because he said I had an attitude which in actual fact I didn't I was just annoyed that they didn't have my drink, I then said to him I didn't have an attitude and he then asked me to leave, so I went outside to get my daughter he then followed me shouting get out, so I explained I'm getting my daughter he then stood over me making me feel intimidated, I think what it was is that we wasn't local and can only assume he took a disliken to us, if I had have had an attitude then I wouldn't have been so upset but I...
