Beam & Brycg Bamber Bridge — Restaurant in South Ribble

Was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. When we went in I asked for their allergy menu as my child is allergic to dairy products and eggs. I was informed they did not have anything I could look at but the barmaid would write down everything which contained the 2 allergens. 20 minutes later and this scrappy handwriting on the back of a childs menu appeared. I could tell immediately that it wasnt a full list as there was no bread listed when there was bread on the menu! I thought I'd play safe and have gammon with pineapple. When I went to order I was told the gammon came with egg and I couldn't have it with pineapple!! Again I explained the allergy and said I couldn't have the egg but pineapple was on the menu elsewhere so I'd like that as a replacement. This was eventually agreed and the allergy was noted on the order for the chef to see. I ordered everyone elses food and sat back down. Once the gammon arrived I was disappointed. I've had thicker slices of bacon!! And it literally had half a tin of pineapple chunks thrown on top! We only ate half the meal as it was not good. That evening my child was in agony with griping stomach pains. This is her first symptom of her allergy. Obviously there was no egg or dairy on my plate so there must have been a cross contamination in the kitchen. Thankfully she doesnt have a life threatening reaction to these products but the pain she was in was unnecessary when the staff had been informed. Wont be going again and certainly would not recommend...

Feels like it's just not looked after at all. Seats in the dining area were old and dirty. Toilet lights were off and mirrors smashed, looked like something from a horror movie. Staff talked over me while I was trying to order, then the order arrived and it was wrong. The glasses we were given had lipstick all over the edges. Ate one piece of chicken and it was wet on one side and tasted like it had gone bad so I couldn't finish it, a few hours later I had really bad stomach ache. Don't understand why this place has such good reviews, I'm surprised it's still open. The only pro is the cheap menu but it's not really worth the stomach ache.

This place looks good from the outside. It is very nice inside too. But the Sunday lunch we had today is possibly the worst I have ever had! The 'roast beef' tasted like it was out of a tin, or frozen. The roast potatoes were frozen and had been thrown in a deep fat fryer, by the taste of it. The mashed potato tasted like they were 'Smash' or something like. There was a spoonful of frozen mixed veg. The Yorkshire pudding tasted like 'Aunt Bessie's' and was arguably the best thing on the plate! Although the gravy was tasty. They were very busy with a large party so we had to wait, but when I saw what was served I did wonder what took so long!!! I would return for a drink, but definitely not for food.
