A Wonderful Experience at The Hunters Pub & Dining!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Hunters Pub & Dining, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! From the delectable food to the outstanding service, everything about this place exceeded my expectations.
To start off our meal, we indulged in the nachos and sweet fries, and they were absolutely delicious. The nachos were loaded with flavor, and the sweet fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They were the ideal appetizers to set the tone for the rest of our meal.
For our main course, we ordered the ribs and the Sunday roast. The ribs were a true delight, falling off the bone and smothered in a finger-licking BBQ sauce. The meat was so tender and flavorful, it was an absolute pleasure to savor each bite. The Sunday roast was equally impressive, with succulent meat and perfectly roasted vegetables. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us feeling completely satisfied.
Now, let me take a moment to highlight the exceptional service we received, particularly from Kelly. From the moment we entered the restaurant, Kelly greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile. She went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Not only did she provide us with excellent recommendations from the menu, but she also made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. Kelly's attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience, and we are grateful for her outstanding service.
The atmosphere at The Hunters Pub & Dining was cozy and inviting, with a lovely table offered to us by Kelly. The restaurant had a charming ambiance, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great meal.
In conclusion, I highly recommend The Hunters Pub & Dining to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience. The food was exceptional, the service was outstanding, and Kelly made us feel like valued guests throughout our visit. Whether you're looking for a delicious meal, friendly service, or a cozy atmosphere, this place has it all. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

Nestled in the heart of Penwortham, The Hunters Pub strikes a wonderful balance between welcoming local charm and well-executed, satisfying pub dining. With its spacious layout, ample parking, and a location that’s easy to access from surrounding areas, this is a spot that draws both regulars and new visitors – and it’s easy to see why.
First impressions are strong. The pub has a clean, modern feel while still retaining that warm, traditional atmosphere that makes British pubs so beloved. There’s plenty of seating inside, but it’s the outdoor area that really shines. The outside seating is thoughtfully arranged, well-maintained, and offers a lovely space for families to gather, especially on a sunny afternoon. It’s a place where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy good food in good company.
Speaking of food – the kitchen at The Hunters delivers. The menu offers a familiar mix of classic pub favourites and contemporary dishes, and the execution is well above standard. Dishes are well presented, arriving at the table with clear attention to detail, and – most importantly – they taste just as good as they look.
The fish and chips were a highlight: crisp batter, flaky fish, and proper chunky chips with a side of mushy peas that had just the right seasoning. The steak and ale pie was equally satisfying – rich, hearty, and served with a light, buttery pastry top. Lighter options and vegetarian dishes are also available, and the children’s menu offers plenty to keep younger diners happy.
Service was friendly and prompt, with staff checking in at the right moments and creating a relaxed dining experience. There’s also a well-stocked bar with a good selection of local ales, lagers, and wines, making it a great choice whether you’re just popping in for a drink or sitting down for a full meal.
In summary, The Hunters Pub in Penwortham is a well-run, family-friendly venue that combines strong hospitality with consistently enjoyable food. With its generous parking, excellent outdoor seating, and reliably tasty dishes, it’s a place that deserves a spot on any...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this establishment on 25/01/2025 at tea time after being given a voucher for Christmas from my daughter . The carpark was full and we just managed to get a space. We entered the restaurant and waited a good 5 minutes before someone came to take our name . He showed us to our table and said we needed to order that bar. Once my husband and I had chosen what we were having he went to the bar and ordered our food and drinks. Within 5 minutes of ordering our starters came . The soup was very thick but my husband ate it anyway. I had Garlic Mushrooms , they didn't knock my socks off to be honest . Having eaten our starters the waiter who was was friendly enough took our plates away . A couple of minutes later our mains came. I had Lasagne and it came with a basket of chips, my husband had steak and ale pie with mash , carrots and parsnips and gravy. My Lasagne was so hot it burnt my tongue. It wad as tho it had been heated up in the microwave . It wasn't that nice either. My husbands pie wasn't cooked completely through properly and the steak was chewy and grissly . Also the mash was like it had been standing about keeping warm and the gravy tasted sweet. We didn't eat all our food as it wasn't fit to eat . We were done and dusted within 40 minutes . Both my husband and I were very disappointed in our meals . We were so looking forward to having a nice meal and a drink considering it was a Xmas present for us. I work as a chef in the hospital so I know what food should look and taste like. Your waiter/Waitress never came to ask how our food was or even asked if we needed any condiments with our meal. When the young lady came to take our plates away she noticed we hadn't eaten our food. She asked was everything OK and my husband replied no the pie didn't seem cooked properly and the gravy tasted sweet. Her reply back was il pass it on to the chef . And she walked away . We got up and paid . Our bill was over £60.00 which in my opinion was over priced . Wasn't worth the money and we felt it was very rushed . I wont be recommending this restaurant to any of my...
