JUNE 2024 update. Went for a lovely meal with husband, easy to walk to from Bloxwich, plenty of parking spaces though if you're in a car, and a lovely beer garden with views over the fields. Great place to have lunch or dinner. Nice menu to choose from with a good selection of vegetarian options, I had scampi and homemade chips with garden peas and salad, scampi was delicious, peas a little hard but ok. Husband had the beef, cheese and bacon burger with homemade chips and salad. TV screen in restaurant section showing football for anyone interested. It was pretty quiet and easy to get a table just walking in. Staff lovely. A nice pub to visit. Definitely recommend.
November 2022. A group of 15 us had lunch today, sent our food choices previously, all good, came out hot, well cooked and together, can't fault it. Nice staff. Lovely local pub.
November 2023 update, another big group lunch today, orders sent in before day. After waiting for a latecomer for a good while all meals came out quickly and hot, waitress was friendly and there was no rush for us to eat quickly even though we'd started later than planned. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, I personally would have had my liver cooked for less time and some pieces were rather hard, but it was tasty with lovely onion gravy and mash. My apple pie and cream was delicious. Unfortunately, the brownie ordered by a friend was very hard, maybe, as the waitress explained because they were gluten free or because it had cooled while waiting for extra custard, or just overcooked, I'm not sure. Overall, a nice lunch out in...
Read moreLovely food and atmosphere, but unfortunately un experienced and rude staff. We went for bottomless brunch which is 90mins. We arrived at 3pm and was asked if we wanted a drink at 4.15pm, one of us finished our drink at 4.25pm and asked for another within our 90 mins. When we went to pay for the bill the drink that was ordered at 4.25pm was added onto the bill instead of put in the bottomless brunch deal. We questioned this to be told it was after our 90mins. Then to be told to just pay for the bill and not come back. We then spoke to the lady more to then be told that we should of been informed that we should have ordered our drinks 15 mins before the time ended. We was also told we can't swap soda for lemonade during our 90 mins, to then be told we can as soft drinks are included. We got alot of mixed signals and communication from different staff. To be told by the lady that took our bill that we were the 2nd bottomless brunch that the girls have done on the new menu so they were unaware of what they can and can't change. She kept talking about a staff chat - of which of course we see not involved in so we wouldn't know the information unless they told us at the start of our bottomless brunch. I think the way we were spoken to was not...
Read moreDon’t like leaving negative comments online as would rather let the manager know my feelings before leaving but, after this visit couldn’t be bothered to complain without sharing with prospective customers….. Hadn’t been in New Ivy House since new management & refurb so decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch, what a mistake that was! Never again … Ordered Turkey roast and a Gammon meal and both came swimming in ‘dish water’ passing off as gravy, frozen/microwaved roast and new potatoes, out of a package stuffing, Yorkshire puddings which looked tasted like they had been made last week and 1 wafer thin slice of Gammon/Turkey. Advertised as home cooking on website which is highly questionable. This was the worst Sunday roast both me & my wife have every attempted to eat. Complete waste of £30 and most certainly would not recommend the New Ivy House on the basis of...
