Dropped in around 4pm on a Sunday as looked smart from the outside. Apparently no tables free in the restaurant, but instead a table in the bar. Seemed the difference was you had to order at the bar and no view of the countryside. We were there for around an hour and when leaving the place was standing room only. The bar feels like you're in a corridor and crammed in by a few steps and with tables a few feet back. Tricky place to queue with people trying to get by. Even trickier when the staff seem solely focused on doing drinks for the restaurant. If wasn't for a helpful local. Might still be there now. Told be a wait for food, but 200mile trip back to London we stayed. Ordered 3 pizzas that came in less than 20mins so all good. Might be good to give an indication of what the wait time is, rather than a shrug. Kids said probably up there with the best pizzas they've had. (Why 5 stars) I thought they were a nice gastro pub pizza, but maybe a bit highly priced. Atmosphere was nice, background noise of plenty of conversations and seemed a place for happy locals to meet and eat. Sorta place people take their mom for lunch on her birthday Dog Friendly.

I came here to celebrate by partners birthday on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was amazing. For a Saturday it was busy without feeling too crowded or rowdy. Tables were nicely spread apart so it didn't feel like we were sat on top of the people next to us. Service was nice and quick, we weren't left waiting long to order and staff were very attentive making sure everything was okay for us. The standard of food was amazing. We had a pizza each and they were cooked perfectly. There were just enough food options to have a good selection without it being overwhelming. Meal came to a good price for the standard of food. We can't wait to return again in the summer when we can enjoy food and drink in the garden.

Our first visit here for dinner on a Monday night. The restaurant claims to be wheelchair accessible but it definitely is not. It was very tricky getting my wife who has limited mobility into the restaurant and although there is a wheelchair accessible toilet it is in the bar area which is down a small flight of steps from the restaurant. On a positive note the service and food were excellent. The selection was good with several unique items which were all lovely. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The food was hot and tasty. The decor and washroom facilities were all excellent. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

I'd read all the reviews about how dog friendly this pub was and so had booked several days in advance to take the family for Sunday lunch, noting in the booking that we would have our dog with us. Our parent's are in their 80's, so logistically we have to be organised. I got the confirmation for the booking on the day that I booked it, so just before 1pm, the time we'd reserved, we arrived on the car park. As I was helping my Mom out of the car my phone started ringing and I realised it was the pub calling. As we were on the car park, we went in, intrigued as to why they were calling us. The bar where we entered seemed to be in darkness and the young guy behind the bar told us to walk up the three large steps where someone could help us with our booking. So we helped Mom (who uses a wheelchair normally) up the stairs, where the waitress told me that they'd tried calling me to say that they did not accept dogs. I said that 2 mins notice was crazy and could they seat us outside - where surely dogs are ok? She "had a word with the Manager" and he agreed that they would put the lights on in the bar and serve us Sunday lunch there. So, we tried getting Mom back down the steps and unfortunately she stumbled at the 3rd one, jolting her back. This knocked her quite sick and we had to leave the pub. As we walked out of the door we passed two other parties of people coming in....with dogs....The whole experience was truly awful. For anyone that is an unpaid carer like myself, trying to organise 2 elderly people for Sunday lunch is an all day affair, so for us to have to go home without lunch was a horrible end to what should have been a lovely day. I should have known when we pulled onto the car park that the pub wasn't very 'elderly friendly', as there were crates loaded up on the disabled parking space, so we couldnt park there anyway. My advice is - dont bother with this pub, there's plenty of others in the area that are friendlier and more...

I didn't want to give any star rating just yet as I may go back and try the restaurant at some point due to others saying it's a better service/food,,,,, the restaurant was busy so we decided to eat in the bar/menu ,,,,, food took a long time and when it did arrive it was given to the wrong table but because they'd waited a long time too just decided to eat the cremated food but with no knife and fork,,, after chatting to the luvly couple they told us that they didn't order that food and were told if they did eat some of the items they would have to pay ?? In all fairness there order was similar to ours 🙄 when ours finally arrived it had to be sent back except for my salad 🥗 but after waiting for our food for well over an hour my salad remained on the table with no knife and fork and my husband was still without food and not forgetting other food that we'd ordered?? After a while we decided it had been far to long and we had to get back,,, so couldn't wait any longer,,,, I think they forgot about us ?? So we politely asked for a refund,,,, the couple next to us said that they hadn't really eaten there food due to it not been palatable/cremated ,,,, I think knife and forks might have helped,,,, it's truly ashame because it's a luvly pub especially the décor,,,,, but I have been told that the restaurant side is a better service including the food ?? I would like to try it and then maybe rate it again ,,,, I had to put at least one star otherwise you...
