Having wanting to eat here for over a year now i was excited to arrive with my 2 daughter's for lunch, i was relieved there was a ramp to the entrance as i am disabled and find steps extremely difficult. Having checked in on the NHS app we were taken to a table by the waitress and placed our drinks order while we looked at the menu....i was seated at a table where there were 2 chairs on my side, i had difficulty pulling the chairs out due to the shape of them and once seated it was cramped so i moved the spare seat to the edge of the table only to be told i was not allowed to move it there, i explained to the waitress i was disabled and did not have enough room and as the pub only had a few people in it was not as if it was in anyones way, she insisted it be moved back beside me so i stood up to put them back in the right place but could not due to the shape of the chairs, the waitress tried and could also not do it so i said just to leave it id manage, i sat down and the other chair simply would not go under the table so it was left sticking out into the walkway of the other patrons, by this point i was chewed to bits and my daughters decided we were leaving. I was so disappointed by our treatment which was not only embarrassing but unnecessary, the girl kept going on about abiding by the government guidelines so can i suggest you fill the hand sanitizer up in the entrance way as it was empty the day we visited as it is government guidelines that businesses provide this for everyone's safety! Needless to say we will not...
Read moreVisited the Travelling man today with my 88 year old mother . We've got into the habit of trying different pubs for lunch every Wednesday but unfortunately , this was the worst food we've experienced . My mother ordered scampi and chips and I ordered a side order of 'Home made ' chips . The scampi and chips turned up with anaemic - looking mushy peas and shoe string fries (my mother had wanted garden peas ,but we weren't given a choice ) my 'Home made ' chips certainly wernt homemade and we're more like Mcdonald's fries . My chips were so hard that I sent them back . A replacement plate arrived less than 5 minutes later , which would suggest that the chips were frozen and had been microwaved . ( I've never known home made chips cook in under 5 minutes) Sadly the second plate was no better than the first , so I left them . My mothers food was bland and tasteless. Whilst the staff were friendly and quick to get us seated and served and the prices were reasonable , it certainly didnt make up for dreadful food . We certainly won't be...
Read moreBeen coming here for a few years now. Family of 4 including baby and child. Provided with high chair right away which was nipping clean - a rare find in some places! We were going to just portion stuff from our plates to feed him - waitress came out with a little bowl of mash gravy and veg for nothing for him!! Including little plastic cutlery which was really thoughtful & it was absolutely gorgeous. Food was delicious as per usual, potatoe skins all round to start, chicken loaded fries for me, chicken sorrentino (i think) for partner and kids sausage chips & beans for daughter who said "best place ever". I fancied a sweet rose for Mothers Day & it was just perfect. Lovely day thank you so much. Food was piping hot and so tasty. My daughter and I made a pig of ourselves with the dessert menu. Will...
