Centenary restaurant — Restaurant in Southampton

Authentic in colour but not in taste. Throughout my entire life, I have never encountered such a lacklustre dining experience. Every sauce served was excessively diluted, lacking any discernible flavour.

Where has the salt gone?

The chicken chow mein was transformed into an onion chow mein, adorned with a mere garnish of chicken.

Satay chicken, which was originally intended to taste like peanuts, was instead served as a bland imitation. There are superior sachets available at Asda that could replicate this dish.

As a native of Hong Kong, I had hoped to find a familiar establishment from my childhood. However, Southampton boasts a plethora of dining options that surpass this one.

The impersonal robots employed to serve food are utterly unappealing. Their primary objective should be to employ staff, not to replace human interaction.

In retrospect, I would have preferred to order takeout rather than wasting...

The ambience of the restaurant is lovely. Good place to have a large family meal when you have guests or a place to take the family when you are just too tired to cook.

The food is tasty and pots of jasmine tea 🍵 great...not tiny like some places I've been, they were too small. The Sizzling dishes arrive piping hot. The lamb was abit tough. Be prepared to spend over £100 for a hungry party of 5.

The Robot 🤖 that delivers the food is interesting but doesn't dimish the overall service which was great. Would recommend if they could offer large family portion size of soup bowl so families have a variety on the table to share when ordering for a big family.

Never eat at the centenary restaurant. The prices are despicable and it’s a disgrace they are allowed to operate on university premises whilst ripping students off. My friend and I ate at the lunch buffet and have been ripped off terribly. For a normal sized amount of food it cost me £23 and my friend £19. These prices are so expensive to be charging students, especially at a buffet. The food tastes average, no better than what you could get at a normal Chinese takeaway for a third of the price. Clearly this restaurant doesn’t want repeat customers. The owner must be a millionaire charging these prices whilst having a queue out the door. I will...
