Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Southampton

I will start by saying the shop is incredibly clean!! So nice to see because sometimes it is hard for busy coffee shops to keep up with all the pot wash but when I went in it was spotless!

Unfortunately, the staff aren't as friendly. I appreciate busy environments with not so polite customers can take its tole but I was genuinely completely conned.

Asked for a medium white Americano to take away. Got to the counter and the cup was half full (i'm not over exaggerating). Asked if it could be filled up with hot water and got huffed at by staff. It was LITERALLY half full and they gave it to me. It's not like it was even a complicated order.. it was just water and espresso.

I really appreciate that coffee shops are stressful places to work. I always let stuff like potwash go and am always pleasant to staff because it is a really busy and stressful job at times. However, this was just a bit of a joke. At least give people their money's worth for an overpriced product! Really...

This morning, I ordered green tea, which came in a pot and a tall glass. Unfortunately, there was something stuck inside the glass, so I went to the counter to request a new one. The young man at the counter was not apologetic, which I could overlook, but he asked me to wait because he was very busy. He kept looking at me in a dismissive manner, and when I inquired about the glass again, he said, “Can’t you see I’m busy?” I mentioned that my tea was getting cold, and he responded with unnecessary comments. I remained patient, and eventually, he handed me a new glass that was right in front of him. I couldn’t understand why it took so long instead of simply providing the glass without the rude remarks. I believe Costa should consider its standards of customer service to avoid such behavior...

A typical on Campus Costa. I've only given it a 3 star for the coffee and food as I asked for cream on my Frappé plus two extra shots of coffee. The cream had clearly almost run out in the applicator as it came out spluttering and didn't cover the surface not did it have a cream mountain rather it looked as if l someone had got a desert spoon of cream and plonked it on the top from a distance. Plus there was no coffee in it. And yes, we paid for the coffee. So it wasn't very appetising. The cinnamon bun was dry to the point of being stale. I could have refused it, I know. But I didn't want to cause an upset durring a wonderful summer Sunday afternoon with my wife. Plus the staff seemed totally disinterested. So no, I won't be going...
