Being in a hospital you would think that the staff would be pleasant but sadly not the case here staff were rude and grumpy. When entered walked up to the front and was rudely told it was the wrong queue so was told to move, there was only 1 person in front of me and I waited over 10 mins to be served, having been awake for around 24 hrs I really needed a coffee otherwise I would of walked out. The woman infront of me asked a question about something and the member of staff rolled her eyes! When it eventually came to me being served was asked 'what do you want'? Nothing polite about that at all. Staff seem more interested in chatting between thenselves than serving customer's. Having worked in a costa shop myself until very recently I know what is supposed to be done and worn. Uniform is not correct (Black cardigan/jumper worn) no apron worn by some of the staff, no name badge. Manager looked very scruffy with dirty t-shirt (completely understand it gets dirty when working) and trousers falling down. Didn't eat anything so can't make a comment on that. No biscuit crumb on the chocolate fudge brownie frappé either and didn't say that they...

I told her I was already in the queue of which her reply was itâs obvious only one of the tills is working isnât it (how was it obvious) and itâs not this one. When I questioned her about her attitude towards me a customer she told me to go away as sheâs had a stressful day. This Costa is in a hospital and Iâm sure a high percentage of the customers are dealing with stressful issues but would not take it out on a member of your staff. Customers should be treated with empathy and understanding particularly in premises that are situated within a hospital. Just to say the young man who served me was very polite and looked mortified to hear how a colleague was talking to me and actually took the time to apologise.
This rude behaviour from a member of your staff was...
Read moreRude staff. Youâd think Costa would train them in customer experience given they are in a hospital.
Saw a guy behind a till tell a queue of people to use the screens (they werenât working), he then asked a man to use a takeaway cup instead of a mug as it was easier for him and his colleagues (1. when you are paying ÂŁ4+ for a coffee the least you could do is put it in a mug and 2. this is horrendous for the environment).
The same staff member berated a customer for not requesting to sit in when he came back up to ask for plates (he wasnât asked whether he wanted takeaway or to sit in when he ordered!) he was an elderly man and probably like a lot of us here going through a very difficult time. Costa - train your staff in compassion.
This is just one example - Iâve had to be here all week and the staff are...
