Brew and Cru — Restaurant in St Albans

The almond croissant was delicious; one of the best I've tasted. But the general demeanour of the male and female staff yesterday was not great because there was no pretence of friendliness.

I ordered breakfast tea, but was given Earl Grey. No problem at all, everyone makes mistakes and we're only talking about tea, but when I tried to get them to understand and to switch it for English Breakfast the female staff spoke no English and the male staff swapped it but it felt like he was doing me a favour. Perhaps he was just having a bad day.

The seats and decor aren't anything to write home about. The general atmosphere is quite flat. If you came for a coffee by yourself it wouldn't be somewhere you could comfortably...

Couldn’t believe what happened when I went to this cafe for the first time. To start lady at the till wasn’t engaging with us when placing and order (2x coffees, cake and croissant). Thought fair enough might be new. We ordered a carrot cake and was served a coffee and nut cake rather than what we ordered. Secondly sat down and waited for our drinks then the staff member SPILT the Iced Chai on our table and proceeded back to the till and didn’t even volunteer to clean it up. Had the mediterran and veggie lunch plates, at £12 each. They were absolutely enormous, fresh and delicious. Took about 10-15 mins to come even on a busy lunchtime.
