Not often that I do reviews , but for this lovely country pub, deserved a mention.

It was my mum's birthday and the Staff were friendly , engaging , attentive and great customer service.

The pub has an excellent garden with a simple but fantastic menu, that isn't too big or too small but offers a decent variety of stone baked pizza , chicken wings, burgers , sharing platters , good selection of starters , sides and desserts.

We ordered the sausage and mash , nice and spicy pizza and the cheese burger that was well presented and all tasted quality.

I asked if they would be able to do a little birthday treat for my mum and they kindly gave us a small brownie with a candle at the end with a few punters singing along the birthday song for my mum which made her day.

The pricing is absolutely fantastic for the quality and amount and I will definitely be coming back here again.

Thank you to all staff at the gate for making my mum's birthday that extra bit special.

God bless you guys and have a...

Walked in to what i would call my local for a pint. Must've had my invisibility cloak on again as was pretty much ignored at the bar while two young lads held their own conversation for as long as it took them to finish it. I was the only customer at the bar at the time. 3 handpumps with no clips on which would usually indicate no real ale...but no, one had Airship on. I had a pint, very nice so went back for another. Same handpump now had a Tribute clip on. I'll have a pint of Tribute please. Sorry we haven't got any Tribute, we only have Airship. After some confusion they took the Tribute clip off saying they didn't have the Airship pump clip yet. Come on lads sort it out with the pump clips & 3 handpumps with one ale on with the wrong clip is beyond me. This is no longer a real ale drinkers pub in my opinion. More interested in serving food now. Had great expectations from what i've read on thier Facebook page. Very...

My parents were looking for a low-key, semi private venue for a small wedding reception during lockdown (Sept 21). We met with Ben who instantly knew exactly what we envisioned and more! As restrictions lifted the numbers grew however Ben and the team were always happy to accommodate. We hired a marquee (on Ben's recommendation) in their private garden with beautiful tables and chairs, outside seating was also available which was ideal as the weather allowed us to make the most of the whole space.

The BBQ food served to our guests was delicious, everyone commented how good the food was for "a pub", the choice was excellent and the extremely friendly staff went above and beyond.

The wedding ran smoothly, the venue set up was perfect and we're so happy to have celebrated at The Gate - Thank you so much Ben, Evan and the...

Me and my daughters went on a kid friendly pub crawl (lemonade and cola only haha) driving through the back rd and visiting several pubs. We came across this place very friendly family oriented place and out of all the pubs were one of the only places to offer Easter activitys for the kids with kinder egg prizes was a great day out and the kids loves the bouncy castle aswell!!!! We ate a roast dinner hear that was really nice and a generous portion very happy with it. Even the locals were friendly popping over and saying hi. Amazing place defenetly gonna go again.

I was passing by with my wife and thought from the outside it looked lovely so we parked in the car park and in we went. We saw a lovely real fire on the go and after explaining we just wanted a drink was shown to a table and asked to confirm we had checked in for track and trace. After that I have a great pint of Adnams and my wife jules a gin and lemonade. Overall great visit but scored down one star as they run out of ale on cask (they did offer bottles however). Happy to return again at some point soon.
