My family decided to hold my Grandmother’s wake at Houghwood as we have patronised the venue over the years for many family functions. Whilst I accept that COVID has placed an enormous and onerous burden on the restaurant sector and many establishments have struggled financially in recent times, I cannot accept what was served to my family and our guests yesterday. For £17 per person we were treated to a pasta dish that was so over cooked I needed a straw to eat it and a chicken curry that was bland, watery and accompanied by insipid rice and damp naan bread. This establishment has deteriorated dramatically since I last visited and no chef worth their salt would have served up the slop we received yesterday. This is a scathing review and I will not apologise for it especially as we were marking the passing of my Grandmother and family matriarch. An embarrassment to the sector and somewhere to avoid...

All in all we've have better for alot cheaper. 3 stars because the staff and atmosphere was pleasant and perhaps we just ordered the wrong thing as the meals other diners had...
