PDG's Eatery — Restaurant in St Helens

Always come here with my partner & everytime we are greeted with love🫶🏼 I look forward to coming in & seeing everyone as I give them a smile and a wave & they come & have a conversation with us… best place & the best food

Update: 15/04/25: we’ve just been in here & usually I never ever have a problem as stated above. My partner is very picky with his food so he changed a few things… when we explained to the girl, we forgot to grab her name she wasn’t rude when she took our order although she added 2 harty breakfasts instead of just the 1 give her credit like, she didn’t know my partner wasn’t finished changing his order… when she come over with 2 harty breakfasts we were so confused & we was saying “we only wanted the one” we apologised as much as we can… but she had quite an attitude with him saying “I specified your order before I left” (she didn’t) then she took the plate and muttered something I wasn’t going to cause a scene and a fuss as my brother was with us & we like the place… as we took the plates to the counter when we finished, another young girl took our payments didn’t say please or thank you or even a bye… it’s basic things like a simple “bye have a nice day” would of been nice, we wasn’t fussed about the food it’s a genuine mistake it’s more of the manners… I’m assuming the two girls were new but it’s...

Firstly made to feel embarrassed when asking for a cup of Earl Grey tea with my breakfast. You'd swear I'd asked for the crown jewels instead of a cup of tea, with the over chatty fuss that the waitress made about it as to whether it was in stock, infront of sneering customers. Over chatty is the key words here, i prefer to sit and eat in relative peace, when i go to an eatery, not hear someone banging on to all in sundry like an old apple seller. Also the place is cash only, which means having to use a cash machine in a dodgy area, which to me is inconvenient because i only use plastic. The breakfast is average, but if all you're bothered about is cheap nosh, then this is the place for you. Personally, I'll stick to Morrisons cafe just around the corner...

I enjoyed a really good meal and a couple of regular house coffees when I visited PDG's Eatery this morning, the proprietor Paul and his staff always provide an excellent service with a wonderful smile on their faces and, everything on his wide variety choice of menu is so delicious and is very reasonably priced too. I would highly recommend anyone to call in and give them a try to prove me wrong ( personally I believe I'm right on point! ) I'm really looking forward to calling in again very soon! ~ Cheers and...
