For a belated Wedding Anniversary treat for my Sister and her Husband, I took them to the Tea rooms, just off the main road through Cheddleton, a lovely old former school set in beautiful countryside, this tea room didn't fail to please!! The layout was done well, you could see everyone enjoying themselves, the tables had enough space to make it private enough for everyone; there was even a long table where a group of people were having a Birthday celebration! We just had coffee and cake but the menu looked good (a must try on my next visit!). The cake (we all had the coffee cake, there were others but most had been eaten, and if the coffee cake was anything to go by I can see why they go so fast!!) The staff were very helpful and courteous, overall a great afternoon, on the way home my sister and hubby couldn't stop talking about the tearoom and the wonderful coffee cake! they will be telling their friends and will be going back there! Bare in mind that room is also an eating area. Plus i was worried about her inhaling the dust, so kept her in my lap. Really a cafe should be more hygienic.
Food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary, hence the low rating. Otherwise coffee was nice but the dust really has put me off coming back as well as the COLD WELCOME towards my 1...
Read moreThis was a lovely little cafe which is located in an old school house. It was quite busy as they were doing Sunday lunches so a telephone booking may be advisable on a Sunday. The Sunday dinner was excellent and is available I three sizes to suit all appetites. The sandwich I had came with a side salad and homemade coleslaw all of which was very fresh and thoroughly enjoyable. The cream tea is highly recommended as the scone is absolutely marvelous, beautifully light and fresh and mine was still warm which shows how fresh everything is. The cakes also looked amazing but unfortunately I was to full to sample them... the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the whole place was very clean. The business is clearly run by people who are very good home cooks and excellent bakers. Well worth a visit if you are need of refreshment. They are currently open...
