The Red House — Restaurant in Staffordshire Moorlands

place is going downhill.... we, ve been using this pub for 18years... and our last visit was not that good.... 1 bowl of soup left if you fancied it, as a starter, no thanks. how longs it been there i ask myself? i ordered steak with onion rings... steak arrived... no rings? i had to wait while they were cooked before starting my meal... no charge by the way for the rings... i was presented with 2 fatty different sized small steaks.. the first was nice. the second red raw..totallt uncooked .i asked for medium steak by the way... i was refunded my money.... why o why can you not get pure beef in this country??? all steaks are full of fat & gristle.... its beyond me why you pay, lets face it its not cheap, yet you get so much fat on your steak???

anyhow... the red house... the girl serving was utterly useless, got everything wrong... the outside hasnt had the play area bins emptied for days.. full of flies... litter blowing around the play area... and tbe interior if the pub carpet is disgusting....

please please spend some money ib this oub as its a real gem of a country pub.... the Auctioneers has just closed in caverswall please save the red house...

This pub does not get enough credit as it deserves. Visited today for sunday dinner and oh my god, one of the best homemade dinner we had in Stoke.

Think it would help massively if the pub would concentrate a bit more on the marketing side and social media to promote their delicious food.

Not quite sure on the pub ownership, it looks independent more than a chain, which it should made it more flexible to promote it a lot more.

We have also tried the normal evening menu on a different o as and this has not disappointed either. Very very good and competitive prices considering the market value, the food portion is just over the normal size as well. Desserts homemade too.

I wish I could share this experience to more people and hopefully people will visit this place more, it truly deserves to be part of the food awards.

The place has a huge carpark and it is easy to find, plus they have a very decent selection of drinks.

If you want some good quality food, please give it a chance.

The dinners...

We went here for a murder mystery night, a total of 15 people, and we all had an amazing night. The bar service was well represented, and the food was really amazing . The portion size was spot on, as well as the children's portions and a vegetarian option too.

I don't want to say too much about the deserts as I would like as much as possible on my next visit.. OK, so they were gorgeous second to none, super fantastic, and moorish to die for..

Enough said on that side 🤫.. As for the staff on that first opening night, they were amazing, polite, happy, and full of smiles all night and they were a great asset to the pubs dining experience..

We are definitely going back for return visits
