We went in on Sunday, late afternoon (Table for 4)for a triple birthday celebration and we had a fantastic Sunday roast. The food was cooked to perfection, 3 Roast rib of beef with perfectly cooked veg and proper Yorkshire puds and lashings of tasty gravy and even a large jug on the side as us northerners love our gravy! Hubby had the haddock and chips which was lovely and flaky,so fresh and he loved it. The service was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Tia moved us upstairs away from the roaring fire which was getting a little warm for one of us and we ate in the lovely dining room which was perfect. Our compliments must go to Tia and the girls and of course, the chef! We'll certainly be going back for seconds! I think I have just eaten the best Sunday roast I have ever tasted, bar none!! Thank you and 5 Stars from us for the...
Read moreWe visited Oddies for the first time today. It exceeded our expectations. I had all but given up on finding such a place, it was just as you would imagine a relaxed comfy village pub to be! A great buzz, burning fires, well behaved lying dogs. Just great! Our party, 4 adults and 3 under 3's were so heartily welcomed by the owner and the staff were all fantastically smart, professional and attentive. And the food! Scrumptious - the first time in ages I have eatan a roast dinner in a pub and not thought 'hmm - not as good as mine'...so top marks for that. The only down side was that we couldn't stay for longer - ! But we'll be back...
Read moreWe visited on a deal, and so pleased it was advertised as the food was excellent. I tried the homemade burger whilst my wife had the salmon. Both were well presented and delicious, as were the starters and sweets. The staff could not of been more helpful, an excellent range of cask & keg beers with a well stocked bar. Some lovely areas to dine, we chose to eat downstairs but you can also eat outside and the carpark is opposite on this quite narrow road. We will certainly return as the food was excellent and if you are a walker, look for the leaflets showing the graded walks which take in the pub ( no car to enjoy the bar - what a...
