Crown Inn — Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

booked a table for seven on Friday the 19th july we had been to the crown inn a couple of times before. when we arrived the Italian owner was welcoming and warm but it sadly went downhill from there. a drinks order took 20 minutes to arrive the meal when it did arrive was not value for money my husbands veal was overcooked the burger was dry and the steak at 14 95 was not very good. we were disappointed as we had brought family from Ireland to the crown inn based on our previous visits. nobody came by to see if the meal was ok. when the young waiter finally came to clear the plates if was after 10 and when the children in our party asked for ice cream we were told that the kitchen was closed at 10 so they could not help. the two young waiters were lovely but not trained had no idea how to cope with the rush. we would not go back which makes me sad because the owner is very friendly and welcoming but the food and lack of service lets the...

Had the most amazing lunch today with my family of 6, there was a very warm welcome into a beautifully decorated small bar area. As a family with children aged two,six & 10 (plus Grandad) it is sometimes a challenge to find something we all enjoy. The host (owner) was extremely friendly and professional, all of the food we had was exceptionally well cooked, flavoured and served. We enjoyed a small "Amuse Bouche" and even the children's chicken nuggets and chips were of very high quality. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good quality food. My husband and I were staying at an Airbnb in Claverdon and thought we would try out local pub. Lovely lady behind the bar. Good choice of ales and cider. We only called in for drinks, but all staff were friendly. Quaint interior. Lovely pub dog, who came and sat on bench seat near us. The following evening, we went back for another drink before retiring after a long day out. Sat in the other room in the pub, again faultless service and drinks. Highly recommend. Lovely place.
