New owners with a traditional way of thinking. Taking British pubs back to the good times. Friendly atmosphere, cosy corners, great local beers with a focus on local produce. Still new to the role and finding their feet well. Enjoyed a 3 course Sunday roast which stunned at every mouthful. This opinion was confirmed by the mutterings from other tables. Best pub dinner in years, how has he got that flavour in there, we'll be back, being very common expressions I overheard. So very happy to have got to experience it. And we'll definitely be back. Can't wait see how this pub and the new owners grow. Also, went for a wandering to walk the meal off, as I may have over indulged. Delightful village with plenty to see, and the magnificent Chesterton windmill on the outskirts.

This was our first visit after choosing this pub because of the varied and interesting menu. We were not disappointed. The decor was modern but comfortable and immaculatly coordinated throughout. The menu was compact but sufficiently varied to give ample choice for many tastes. We chose three very different dishes, which were all very generous and cooked to perfection - including 'real' mashed potatoes and a tender gammon steak at least half-an-inch thick! The dessert menu looked delicious but on this occasion we all declined and finished with a mug of coffee. We all agreed that it was very good value for money at £13.50 a head. The welcome and service were friendly but professional. Everything was perfect. We shall return. 10/10

First visit since they changed ownership and I’m happy to report that the food is still excellent! We visited for a Sunday lunch which is deffo recommend. The roast beef was cooked medium rare as standard which is absolutely my preference, and the pork was served with a gorgeous bit of crackling. Cauliflower cheese was spot on. The only thing I think they should do differently is the 2/3 course meal thing on a Sunday. Not everyone has a huge appetite/feels like having 2 courses.

Popped into The Crown this evening and had such a genuinely lovely time. The new landlord and landlady, Dom and Jo, may only have been in place for a few weeks, but they’ve already created such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, it honestly felt like a proper local and not clicky like it felt previously.

The drinks were great, the setting was relaxed, and the service was spot-on. A special mention to Tim and Taylor too, whose service was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and just added to the overall positive vibe of the evening.

It’s clear that Dom and Jo really care about the pub and the community, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do with the place going forward. A proper gem of a pub wishing them all the success...

Good pub, light long haired lady is a bit mardy; likes to tell you where to sit, when there's loads of seats and you're trying to keep your distance.

One of my best friends I just buried because of 16 weeks fighting COVID on his own in hospital

The table isn't reserved:

1 when there's loads of tables & better tables than the one I was at by the door/throughfare

2 until the 2 people wanting it are there

After finishing my beer it was still empty and the people that sat when I moves were still there looking bored, in need of service and no drinks

If I were waiting on them they'd have had beers, menus and some snacks on the table straightaway

One of my best friends I just buried because of 16 weeks fighting COVID on his...
