For my Fathers Day treat my daughter and partner treated me to an Indian meal, in this excellent restaurant, instead of the usual carvery or roast meals we have had elsewhere, when celebrating something special.
This restaurant served up the most amazing Tandoori Special ( chicken) Biriani I have ever tasted. It was perfectly presented, the accompanying curry sauce was equally as delicious and well cooked as the main dish. Sumptuous, mouth wateringly, deep, flavoursome authentic delicately spiced explosion of real Indian cuisine I have ever tasted.
We had side dishes of Sag Aloo, and Tarka Dal as well, and I was comfortably full, but not bloated, afterwards. A couple of bottles of Becks lager washed the palate between mouthfuls of this extravaganza of tastefulness.
HIGHLY recommended establishment. The staff were polite, smartly dressed, and very helpful with regard to what each dish comprised of. Extremely knowledgeable, respectful, courteous with a good sense of humour. We were welcomed with a smile, and staff saw us off, wishing us well and hoping to see us again.
The menu prices are very reasonable, indeed, for such well cooked food.
The interior possessed an historical colonial touch, was spotlessly clean, well aired with plenty of light. Toilets were clean and tidy, and we had a window table facing open countryside and an occasional passing train, which complimented the food. Tableware was clean and tablecloths so white that I had to wear sunglasses. I’m not joking!
IMHO, the exterior car parks and outside furniture of the premises did not reflect the high quality of care and commitment, the interior boasted, and slightly let down this wonderful gem of a place. The bench tables were in need of a coat of paint, and one had wood rot badly in need of treating. These are relatively minor observations, and as this is my heartfelt review, I have to add, not wishing to offend the owners, that the main signage picture didn’t , for me, reflect the professionalism that this restaurant exudes, in both its excellent cuisine and staff. It doesn’t do the establishment justice. The words are bang on: ‘ Savour Joy in Every Bite ‘ . This place deserves a...
Read moreI visit the UK from the U.S. once a year, and the first thing I always get is a curry. I’m really happy I found this place! The food was fantastic—rich, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The staff were super knowledgeable, even helping us choose dishes, and everything we tried was excellent.
They were also incredibly accommodating to my 11-month-old, who made quite the mess, but they handled it with kindness and patience. We loved it so much that we came back the following week with a big group, and everyone enjoyed their meal just as much. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great Indian food and...
Read moreWe were really excited to visit here because of the previous reviews and so we had high expectations. We were in the area for a weekend away.
Unfortunately the food was fairly average. Maybe we're spoiled because we're from the midlands where it's very well known for the high quality Indian restaurants. In comparison, Ali's just doesn't compete but the food was ok overall.
One major criticism was paying nearly £5 for two poppadoms, which was crazy to us.
We couldn't fault the service which was fantastic and the staff were super friendly.
There's plenty of free parking which...
