The four of us visited again on 5th October and as expected, our food was absolutely fantastic and excellent value for money. The Fromebridge Mill is consistently brilliant and although this is the first review I've left, we've dined here many times. The table was all ready, laid out and spotless when we arrived and as usual, the bar and waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful with a wide selection of drinks on tap. Marvin their head chef was looking after the carvery and ensuring everything was piping hot, cooked to perfection and served with a beaming smile as he made sure everyone was well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. This is without a doubt one of the very best venues around a significant area of Gloucestershire for the quality, selection and value for money of the carvery, it could quite easily be the absolute top. The usual menu doesn't disappoint either with an excellent selection of dishes and desserts to choose from. Not all of us had room for desserts (you can always share one though) and they were so nice, one was started before I had time to snap the photo! The Fromebridge Mill is really easy to find, just a few moments from Junction 13 of the M5 with a huge, free car park and plenty of space for a walk and to exercise dogs. Book a table and visit as soon as you can, you'll be absolutely thrilled and won't leave there hungry, I...

First visit here. Not overly impressed. It says dog friendly, but I couldn't find anywhere on the booking to say you're bringing a dog, as they have a certain area for dogs. They have a doggie menu, got our girl the carvery, £3. It was served in a plastic takeaway tub! It was basically left over fat! We wouldn't feed her this at home. We were hoping for a bit of veg as well. Needless to say, don't order this. You need to order your meals at the bar. If you miss the sign when entering, you wouldn't know. The person who directed us to our table, didn't inform us of anything. Only that we have the table for 1 1/2hours! The whole atmosphere felt rushed. Yes it was busy, but people queuing for food and drink was ridiculous. Why on earth do they not take your orders at the table??! The staff were not attentive and not approachable. Will not be visiting this place again. Not very autistic friendly either. The setting is the only best thing about it.

Replying to Sacha The food for our dog wasn't altered at all! We were not offered any veg, just to be told that's it. I appreciate that Sunday's are busy. But, ordering at the bar for food can take 15-20 minutes or so, then waiting for the food, so the time is reduced to relax and eat your meal. We had people queuing next to our table, very off putting. The feeling was...

Came here for a celebration meal for a birthday so booked a table in advance.

Overall the food was fantastic, really lovely food, we all enjoyed ours and my 3yo didn't complain either. So overall, really great to have a good meal.

The issue was the service.

It took us up to 15 minutes every time we wanted to order from the bar. There were only 2 people working behind and it was very busy. We waited 15 minutes to order our drinks, then 20 to just place an order for food.

Whilst the actual service for food was really good, it was really off-putting being stood in a queue for ages.

It would have perhaps been better to have one taking just drink orders and one sorting the food, perhaps? As at one point someone was placing an order for drinks and food for a table of 12, and at that moment there was only one behind the bar. So the queue was extremely long!

That said though, great food. And everyone there was trying hard so can't fault the staff, just think they need more OR order at your table would really help!

Update: Thank you for your response. We didn't know that we COULD order from the app however, no one told us and couldn't see it advertised. Perhaps something on the tables or when busy, staff could inform us? That would have saved a lot of people as so many were complaining. Great to hear we could...

First time visiting this place. Previous reviews are very good and raised my expectations. Outside, the pub is a bit dark until the evening fairy lights come on to brighten it up. Inside, it feels a bit jaded, it appears to lost its original glamour. Tired. The staff were friendly and assisted me fine. Taken to a dining table, but read menu then order at the bar. (Saves staff I suppose). The meal I ordered came in an appropriate time and looked fine. Fillet steak with a house topping. Accompanied by 3 small Onion rings, 1/2 a tomato, chips and a pea leaf garnish. The steak was cooked to my liking and was tender. The rest was ok. The salt mill didn’t work at all, and French mustard wasn’t available. English was provided. The main reason I stopped here was the availability of overnight parking of my Motorhome on my journey south, and I was happy to pay £10 to charity. I will probably call again another time. Thank you.
